Memecorps is an association of mad memetic engineers who intend to create a memetic singularity. Our meme army marches in the service of creativity and art, and our goal is to revolt against the forces of the same and create a memetic utopia where the creative potential of human beings uplifts it to individual and social heights such that we cannot imagine it (hence the singularity; it is a qualitative shift in human self-creative ability.) We are weapon designers, and the weapons are tools of creativity, specifically how to augment human creative effectiveness. We are artists who wish to create the most awesome brushes we can to help others become awesome artists. We wish to create inspiration, it is against passivity and disinterest that we battle.
Memecorps envisions a technology of memetic engineering where instead of the “memetic engineering as figuring out how to propagate” it optimizes the Darwinian system as a whole, balancing its basic three elements (variation, selection, reproduction) instead of just seeking selection and replication (memetic inject.) Memecorps is memepunk, seeing creativity as an organic process and memes as organism-like, including the idea of memetic entities. Memepunk is a crazy aesthetic where memes manifest on the physical world (the memetic phenotype, as symbol/image) as part of their life cycle, before returning to genome form (the memetic genotype in people's brains.) The punk part comes in because there is this global memetic conspiracy of parasitic memes that hijack people's agency to propagate themselves, hiding their nature so that the host gladly propagates itself. Do you realize the memes never truly die? You may well get your utopia, but oh no, it won't end there.
