Confirmation bias. A lot of bad things are always happening in the world but in the modern era they are front and foremost. We live in an era of fearmongering so even when our own personal lives are in a decent state, we feel an impending doom from the newspapers/tv shows/radio shows/internet posts telling us about all the bad stuff going on in the world.

It's likely just a strong sense of unease due to current events. Perhaps start a journal, write down when the sense of doom spikes the most, and look over what has happened in the previous timeframe to trigger it.

I actually have this feeling every now and again and it usually lasts for a while... I usually just think its paranoia since I fear the unknown, but I have come to also find, that when Im having certain feelings like this... MY mother is actually having the same feelings! You might have a very strong connection with your mother as I do with mine. Sounds like you are also very intuitive. If you and your mothers are connected as well as you say, dont ignore those feelings tho. I doubt they have anything to do with the world's impending doom, but perhaps something more personal and something tragic might occur in your life soon.

Last night I had a very vivid dream (which I don't usually have) about looking out my apartment window (nyc) and seeing mushroom cloud and the wave of light exploding in my direction, at which point I directly woke up.
