Spiritual Effects of Diet?

A while ago I was in contact with several ascended masters, what they said about food was the following:

Dont eat meat unless you kill the animal yourself.

Eat only food that comes from the earth, no processed food at all.

Thank everyone involved in bringing you the food, from the earth, trees, harvesters, truckers to the cook or chef.

Thank the food itself for giving you nourishment and energy, and promise it that you'll put its energy to good use.

You are not defiled by what goes into your mouth, but by what comes out of it.
