I've been well-versed in werewolf lore since I was a child and I've had a theory for a while now regarding the origins of werewolf mythology. Particularly the lunar aspect.

Do you occasionally have nights when you feel kind of restless? A bit antsy? Your routine hasn't been thrown off, everything is business as usual, but you just feel... different? I have this experience several times a years and have for as long as I can remember. Years ago, I gradually began to notice that every time I get this feeling it's during a full moon. We know that the moon affects terrestrial activity, such as the tides. But can it possibly have an affect on humans as well? There's been studies into it, but so far there isn't enough data to arrive at any sort of semi-conclusive answer. I think this may be the basis for lunar werewolf mythos. Or maybe it was drugs, I dunno. Lots of cultures around the world took drugs and invented tales of humans transforming into animals.
