LOTR is an analogy for some catholic doctrines, bc JRR was a pious catholic.
Lord of The Rings is a shitty series
He lifted the names of dwarves and other shit from Norse mythology. You can look up a bunch of them in the Eddas.

You don't wanna hang out with Melkor bro he's bad news, he fucked up this guy Feanor and his kids were so mad about it they killed themselves... well in a philosophical sense they did
LOTR is real, it's the afterlife, I am Sauron, I managed to trick them not to marry me to a female, so there won't be one ring, I will have its power without need for a ring, thus having no weak spots.
We are winning this battle.
I'm bringing on heroes from other realities and we totally aren't edgy fedoras roleplaying to be bad guys from our favourite fictions.
>LOTR
It's about industry, man.

I didn't hear about the Black Library, but it seems related to Saturn, seeing that color is his.
Since I study astrology in the pre-1700 style, I know Saturn is really one of the bad guys. Practically all kinds of destruction is done for Saturn worship. There are people who worship Saturn, probabily the same who built the Black Library.
Sorry, I watched LOTR only once, then I forgot most of it. I remember my friend told me it is an allegory on subconcious battles or something like that. People go everyday having tense moments and they don't know what to do, what to decide, hence the internal battles happen.
LOTR isn't about anything specific. It just takes ideas from everywhere to make a cool setting and a few cool adventures.
If you want popular occult influenced fantasy TES is your best bet
