I live 15 minutes from Harrisburg and have been in the room at the Capitol where he committed suicide on live television. What made it even more brutal was the fact it was a snow day, and thousands of children would have been at home watching TV when it was airing (this was back in the day where you had 3 channels). He killed himself because he was under investigation for 11 federal charges involving something dealing with mysterious loss of money as he was State Treasurer. If I am remembering correctly, and what's most tragic of it all, he was innocent (I could be wrong, can't be arsed to look it up), meaning he acted only out of seeing no hope for a future.

The bullet hole remains untouched to this day.

I literally just googled "Murder of Shirley Ledford by the Toolbox Killers Transcript" and found about six versions.

The dialogue is the same in all of them, but each transcriber describe the non-speaking parts in slightly different ways. Some describe the torture in detail, other gloss over it.

The first part contains long segments of dialogue where they brutally rape and mutilate her, while forcing her to say different things.

Then there are long periods of the tapes that are just the sound of them torturing her and her screaming incoherently. At one point they beat her elbow joints to a pulp with a sledgehammer, and some transcribers list how many hammer strikes are heard and at what time intervals, things like that.

The end is just her becoming very quiet, angry and resigned, and daring them to finally kill her. They comply.

They found this actually. It was a movie that a guy wanted to make but never got the money to make it. The guy who owned the distributor company isn't a criminal but he probably doesn't know anything about business (hence his crazy unsecured website for the distribution company).
