Do eldritch abominations actually exist?
>>
>>19415509
Octopi and squids are pretty lovecraftian. As is that giant oil rigger squid.
So yes.
>>
>>19415509
Sadly yes
>>
>>19415521
Go on....
>>
>>19415509
No, an eldritch abomination by definition is a creature defying the laws of physics. So, unless a black hole is alive, sadly no.
>>
>>19415523
what more do you want?
>>
Sometimes when a universe traveler jumps to a universe too many times with different physics that it's home universe it becomes something horrible. Something like that.
>>
>>19415509
If they did, do you think a worthless dumbed down human like you or myself would know? (I like to think they do)
>>
>>19415606
More information on the abominations
>>
>>19415509
Yes. In fact one of them happens to be my ex-wife.
>>
>>19415509

They definitely exist. All it takes is for one to eventually exist that has the power to retroactively exist before its initial existence, and due to sheer probability stacking infinitely over an infinite amount of meta-time, this must happen.

But a lot of other crazy, good, things will happen too, so don't worry too much. Imagine how bad things can possibly become, and realize they must inevitably become equally as good at some point, swinging back and forth between better and worse until the horseshoe a mere Planck-wall from being a full circle, sphere, or 11 dimensional hyper spheroid metaverse point.

I think they operate on expanded concepts of the laws of physics.
Plus by definition eldritch refers to fey shit, maybe general term for outsiders.
As for space faring ancient transcendent cephalopods, they do seem really fucking scary. Extra bonus fun mode is combining a messy battle of living gods and panspermia. Gulf of Mexico, impact crater, alien consciousness defo down there. I used to be super scared of it but now it kinda gives me a squiddly rachni queen/queen bug from ender's game type vibe. I definitely have had night terrors featuring it for... a long time now. Lovecraft was supposed to be similarly plagued, but he processed his feelings through art. Obviously these are just alternative facts from a crazy person on
a board for pocket pussy collectors
>>
>>19415509
Why? Do Dragonlance or Wheel of Time characters actually exist? wtf is wrong with kids these days?
>>
>>19415509
yes, but they are chained up for now.

Well, you wouldn't want to know.
Right..?
>>

yes. but most got bored and wandered off it seems. think pazzuzu is hanging out with his brother in india just to fuck with people but thats about it

yes but they have scientific explanation and documentation. Eldritch monsters are incomprehensible to the human mind, though they too if they existed would have reason and rationale, unless they manifested out of some incident in which our thought of them conceived them. In which case the only way we could interpret them is our own fear of what we dont know or understand; Ourselves.

>sheer probability stacking infinitely over an infinite amount of meta-time

There is an interesting way to conceptualize this using a high res computer monitor or tv.

> The picture on the screen is simply a combination of colored pixels of varying luminosity.
> Put in another way, the picture on the screen is a POSSIBLE combination
> If we run an algorithm that loops through every possible combination, then, given you are patient enough, it will eventually display the image you are looking at right now
> Take one step further, you will also see every possibility that can be photographed and displayed on a monitor, including images of your birth, death and funeral.

If a probability of something is zero (it defies the laws of physics), then it won't happen, no matter the timescale

The problem with that is that there are theories that support the idea of "bubble realities" that exist simultaneously without ever interacting with each other.

Each of these bubbles could very easily have different laws which govern them, independent of the laws of physics that govern our reality. To the point that some of these bubbles could simply be swirling maelstrom of chaos wherein matter never forms.

So, you say that anything being possible in an infinite universe is a fallacy due to our understood laws of physics. But.. We don't actually know that the laws of physics are a universal constant. We just assume, because obviously nothing we can't understand could possibly ever occur.
>>
I had a dream I was having a conversation with what could be called an eldritch creature.

From what I remember it was like a tower made of some kind of fleshy substance. It wasa mixture of colors, ranging from green, to lime green, and dark green, and bits of yellow mixed in between.

The most interesting part was that it spoke in a feminine voice. And while their were the shape of lips over its body, I'm pretty sure it spoke to me telepathically.

I can't remember for the life of me what the fuck we were talking about, but it was a very deep, pleasant conversation. So much so, that when I woke up, I felt a deep longing to get back into that dream again.

The only other thing I remember is the sky being yellow, with wispy surrounding us. "She" was planted in this circular area of ground in this yellow space and sat fairly close to it.
Looking up the tower seemed to go on forever, and there was no telling what was below the circular ground she was planted in.

I have a lot of hellish nightmares/dreams, but that one felt very alien and otherworldly.

I hope that if humanity kicks the bucket they'll take over because damn, they deserve it for being so cool.
>>
Yes but not in the way depicted in illustrations.
This occurs when a ?D thing pass through our 3D perception of the world. we would see it as we see our body through an IRM scanner, it'll be a bloody mess coming from all directions, always in motion. We woulnd't comprehend the shape that surrounds us and it'd be filled with "reality glitches", thus we could go crazy trying to grasp the concept.
It's per say a creature with tentacles but that's as close as we can see it.
Most of illustrator don't do their research and just go for yet another "normal" creature with tentacles.
>>
>>19415573
No, just beause they exist in a non euclidean plane doesn't mean they defy physics.
>>

Me again http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MDvlO9q6qWk
that's just the skin of a 4D horse depicted in 3D (on a 2D screen), imagine with bones and guts.

Type 4D game in youtube to have a little understanding of what walking in R'Lyeh would feel like.
>>
>>19438850
Well that was unsettling.
>>
>>19438870
Imagine being surrounded by stuff like this. My big concern is : Would it pass through you or get stuck everywhere? I think tht's why they aren't possible to be witnessed, 1 more dimension means it's out of 3D world. they don't match
>>
>>19438906
>through you
But that's not how dimensions work. It could pass over you, much as you cupping a bubble in your hands. For you to pass through a piece of paper, you'd need to put a hole in the paper. Anything drawn on the surface of that paper would literally see reality rip apart, and the light rays coming in the edge of the paper would no longer correspond to thing reflected off of other parts of the 2D scene. How a higher dimensional entity interact with your body depends on what properties your body has in that higher dimensional space. Maybe our bodies "bleed" out a little into higher dimensional space and we have a sort of extra-dimensional "skin" that makes us look like a fatty blob.

Or maybe our entire dimension is like a film of soap, stretched out inside an impossible void.

And a tiny little pin prick...
>>
>>19438933
nice thanks! I always had trouble picturing it
>>
>>19438947
It gets worse.

Imagine our universe is like a sponge, filled with all kinds of little holes and our bodies are individual soap films. Which type of extradimensional eldritch being would be more unsettling?

One that can travel through the very structure of the sponge and pop arbitrary soap films at will?

Or one that can squeeze the entire sponge and make us all "suds" out into a world of Cronenbergs? The world will regain its shape as it decompresses, but the suds can never be put back.
>>
I once saw this thing. I didn't even remember it, but when I saw it again I did. I don't know if it was an eldritch abomination, but I have no idea how to describe it. I thought if I ever saw something like it I'd be locked up in fear but I felt amazement. Not just that, calm. Like really calm. Like I've grown up with anxiety my whole life and looking at this thing was the most calming thing in my life. When it was in my backyard I tried to take a picture of it, but as I pulled my focus away to my phone it just vanished, like it was the image in one of those books where you have to cross your eyes to see the image.
>>
>>19438995
Can you describe this thing beyond the feels it gave you?
>>
>>19439006
No, it's like the second time I remember seeing it, awoke the first time and made me remember seeing it before, but the idea of it feels like it was scrubbed out of my mind. It didn't look like an animal or human or anything like what I'd see on a regular basis. It's hard to describe when even the color is one you haven't seen before. Like when you wake up from a dream where you knew the secrets of the universe but in your woken minds all you can remember is something about chocolate.

>>
>>19439049
I'm not alone. My brother saw it, we've talked about it after a few beers once. He said the same thing about the second time. That you can remember the first time. He's seen it more than me. Actually, recognizing patterns and accounting for them is the only human civilization exists at all. Trying to account for things we have no reason to believe are even possible is a waste of time. There's an infinite amount of random shit you could come up with, so preparing for any of these "possibilities" should give you a zero percent chance of guessing right, and fantasizing about these "possibilities" is just wank.

You yourself said that according to these "theories" (actually hypotheses, aka guesses) , none of these universes interact with each other, which means that any spooky goat octopus wizards that form there will never become relevant to us. And again, if these universes are completely random, then any guesses are pointless and wrong, aside from constants, like these universes existing at all.
