The biggest issue here would be prolonged and severe sensory deprivation. She had a relatively normal life before ending up locked, so her mind, used to normal stimuli, had to cope with lack of things to see and hear, as well as lack of anyone to converse with. My parents took me out of school and had me stuck in a room for 4 years, from 13-17 because they "didn't want to deal with a teenager in high school, and all that entails, with younger kids in the house".

I was allowed out 2 times a day to shower, shit and piss. they told the school that i was moved to another state and took my records and threw them out.

It heavily depends on someone's personality. People who are introverts are able to handle much longer. Think about lighthouse keepers or other jobs that leave someone stranded alone in what's effectively a hermitage, seeing no one but their supply provider for years, yet still not going insane. The fact that their solitude was picked voluntarily is also a huge factor.

Literally nothing stopping you from raising them in one room. Not even legally.
