The only proof I PERSONALLY would expect is either that I witness it myself in person or have a person I trust a lot tell me about it. As far as the factors go well, it has to be something that is "inhumane/paranormal" in nature or it's just a human with some odds quirks, basically an otherkin.

Things I could imagine real vampires could do in random order, for example:

- some form of mind reading or mind control
- seeing in darkness
- quick regeneration of wounds
- possibly growing fangs or pushing them down (some animals do that)
- enhanced strength and reflexes
- doesn't age (obviously that one can't be proven unless there is longterm contact)
- their blood might have unusual effect if consumed, maybe makes you feel "euphoric" or something

If it's mundane shit that any other human can do, it's not supernatural.

If you ever find it again, do share. Even if there's nothing to it, it's always fun to read fresh material. In my experience, if demons and angels are real, their influence on our physical reality (if any) is very subtle and indirect for the most part, which makes me very skeptical about this theory, personally... but who knows.

I can't even begin to speculate on that. I agree that the latter would make more sense, medically speaking, but it would depend on what the vampiric condition is even about. Disease? Some kind of alien technology? Divine curse? No one knows. I think it would have to involve some kind of "supernatural element" in any case, so coming back from death isn't out of the question.

Oh absolutely, I think that's inevitable. Though I don't see why we would even engineer an artificial "vampire", when we could just create superhumans without any of the "flaws" vampires have (or their parasitic nature). On the other hand that explanation seems pretty logical. Blood carries a lot of "prana", especially when fresh, and if used efficiently the blood of younger persons would be very powerful in the hands of a skilled person.
There's also the fact that souls survive after death, of which I am 75% certain and I am now trying to find further evidence.

I haven't met any vampire, but I know some people who are into blood magic and deal with "demons" (or their subconscious fucking shit up), with some success. The only thing I cannot explain is the undead part, which seems too overpowered to be true. But hey, who knows how long does it take to get there?
