Aside from it being an old picture, it's night and using the flash would draw attention. If you've ever tried using a smartphone in a dark area you know it's a pretty shitty resolution.
Sure, there's fancy cameras that could work much better, but they're expensive as shit and someone who could afford that probably isn't just hanging outside in the middle of nowhere where something like that would appear, and an intelligent lifeform actively not trying to be detected wouldn't pop up at someone's pool party.

It is a wonder anything at all is recorded, but by all means, because you have never experienced something strange, it is all cgi. Biology is amazing. Cameras can not yet match the on the fly abilities of our eyes. Find an old flip phone and a location with similar lighting to the video. Replicate the video and see how well you do.
