I found out about Hermeticism while going deep into Rosecrucionism, or however you spell it. Its an understanding that comes from reading a bunch of hermetic scripts from Ancient Greece and possibly Egypt. A lot of this was studied during the renaissance. It has knowledge and understanding that only the greatest people knew ( Egypt and Greece, because Rome was built off a distortion and their own variant of the work of both). Hopefully I can find a book with the information that hasn't lost too much info through translation.
We need to get close to the same work that Jesus and his disciples were onto. Its the same understanding that some in Ancient Greece but most importantly Ancient Egypt had. And others like Michael Angelo and Da Vinci. Very few people have ever reached this understanding. its part of the reason that there was only ever 8 Rosecrucians for the first hundred years. It was nearly impossible to find enlightened individuals and each member always had to find someone to take his place when he died.

One should know, that Rudolf Steiner, in my humble opinion, has updated Rosicrucianism and transmitted it to the masses. One could read Initiation or How to know Higher Worlds, as well as An Outline of Occult Science.
In any case, the most fundamental law of these shitloads of spiritual stuff will always remain.
Love and Presence, effort to individuate One's self from the automatic algorithms of its personnality, to submit to growing from the inside out as a plant, by diving deep within ourselves in order to reach our personnal moral virtues and volition, which may enable us to enter into the spiritual realms as we should : having made ourselves like Nature and the Universe are, meaning, we tune ourselves into the best version of ourselves, bit by bit.
Initiation into Rosicrucian Brotherhood is really something that's not physical, it happens inside the individual who is opening up to the other realms.
Basically our mind can connect to "canals" from what lies behind matter. These canals, be them angels, archangels, deceased people, spirits, egregores, pure Concepts themselves; we can connect better and better to them as we advance further upon the Initiatic path of Inner Knowledge.
Two advices, from Napoleon Hill's "Outwitting the Devil". Only two things are the most important in Man to counteract the entropic effect of Matter/The Devil :
- Never let any thought-pattern run free and create rythmics-unconscious-loops.
- Use sexual energy only for proper spiritual growth.
