Thing is you seem to be rejecting the possibility of the existence for the paranormal because you have not personally witnessed it in action. I'v seen ghosts with my own eyes (as have other members of my family) both as a child and also as an adult when I worked as a night watchman in an empty old hospital so in my opinion, I also 'know', but in the affirmative of their existence. I always saw it as two seperate figures, the higher up one in partial apparition. The staircase was supposedly empty when the picture was taken and the witnesses were considered credible. It was looked over by several experts in the employ of kodak who insisted it had not been tampered with was not an effect of double negative exposure or fault in the film. Surely they would have mentioned said effect first as an explanation.

The problem with that rebuttal is that if the people who took the photo were known to be credible, honest sources and they said there's were no people around when the shot was taken, then there would be no human forms to be distorted by a long exposure shot.

However, if we are going on the assumption that they lied and faked the photo in a way that Kodak experts didn't think of, then we can just throw all photographic evidence that has ever been caught out the window. If you can't even trust experts in the field saying it's real, there's nothing anyone can show you.

I found its movements to be disconcerting, the way it shifts about in a jerky manner and almost seems to phase in and out of reality is reminiscent of accounts of shadow beings. On reaching port in New Orleans the Captain handed the camera over to officials of the Cities Services Company and they sent it directly to their New York office, where the film was developed and printed by a commercial photographer, and there were the heads of Courtney and Meehan, exactly as they had been seen on board ship.
