The point of the so called "men in black" is to carry out covert agendas while blending in as civilians. They dont actually wear black suits unless that would be appropriate for the situation. My guess would be that an existence of aliens disclosure would cause a strife with people and their government/countries. Aliens would basically be superior in every way compared to earth and its countries, so why would people bother to listen to their inferior governments/countries and not turn to the aliens? Of course I'm speaking hypothetically though. There are many different scenarios such as invasions and what not. Should the MIB even exist, I believe their priorities would make sure that the social structure doesn't collapse, as opposed to finding spooky ghost girls.
