Jew here, i don't think its an entirely purposeful thing that many jews are in positions of power. My experience of Judaism has been that it is often used as a way to network, which is understandable, you have a group of people who were raised similarly due to the same religion, may have similar moral guidelines, and there is a level of trust and companionship you feel with each other due to these things. My experience of judaism is that at least in the way I've practiced through my life is that it is about community. If the holocaust truly didn't happen the way it is taught I would venture to say the vast majority of jews believe it did, there very well may be some kind of ultra powerful jewish elite, however most of us are far from holding a special place in the world.
