I think that as we are made in God's image, we needed "not having free will" to make sense and not be unjust, so we all wanted to experience it. This life and the reincarnations are to realize it is perfect to not have free will and knowledge of evil.

I also think it won't always be this way, because the biblical predictions of the apocalypse are proving to be accurate. If there is an apocalypse, it is because there is a need for free will and knowledge to end for our own good.
