Premise A: The thing being wished for is something the wisher doesn't already have or know, because why wish for it if you've already got it.
Premise B: By virtue of not having it, the wisher does not fully understand what it is they're wishing for.
Premise C: It is very unlikely that the wisher's fantasy about the thing will bear any resemblance to it's actual reality.
Conclusion: Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
