When I originally saw these threads I assumed these videos were just trying to generate clicks from concerned onlookers and bots to generate revenue. I was wrong. My kids went over to my parents house for a weekend, and while they were there they apparently had some unsupervised internet time. This was pretty frustrating to me, as my parents knew that was not something I was comfortable with. I pulled up the search history on the computer at my parents house and found a ton of these videos in the recent history. Worse yet, they escalated in depravity from there. The most recent videos were things like "lesbian lick challenge," and "Jojo horrific glass accident."

I don't know of this is anything nefarious, or if the youtube algorithm relates those later videos to this pregnant baby Elsa crap, but it does reaffirm my decision to be extremely strict on my children's access to technology. My kids admitted that it wasn't their first time looking at this stuff, and that they have some friends that bring tablets to daycare and they watch these videos all the time. The good news is, this has led to a ban of tablets at their daycare (which really should never have been allowed there anyways.)

I find this interesting, I think the click bait is just part of it. I could get behind the 'its a conspiracy to cause degeneracy' bit. Look at serial killers throughout history. Much of it stemmed through bizzare and uncomfortable experiences as a child and that doesnt mean it has to be physical. I remember when I was a kid, using Kazaa and Limewire and searching for "funny" and download whatever the fuck showed up. Got a lot of funny stuff but I also found a bunch of weird shit that kids should not watch, hell even adults shouldn't watch.
These youtube fuckers are something in the middle, barely under the radar of censorship.

I'm vigilant with my son and he watches some harmless nuresery rhyme stuff. All very clean.

Because most parents will give there children tablets so they'll shut up in ikea, and these kids see their favorite characters on youtube thumbnails such as Spiderman or Elsa and be automatically interested. Once they tap on the video, they realize its not what they expected but will not care because they, being dumb children, will be entertained by all the "silly" noises and colors happening on screen, and will watch until the video ends and let youtube auto play the next video. Videos like this are encouraged by youtube because they are watched until the end, making the creator more money.

It's just some people trying to make money, like any other capitalist enterprise. Teleparenting has been a thing for ages, so kids are usually one of the easiest viewer demographics to cater to. When people want to make an easy buck off youtube they won't care about content quality, just the number of viewers. Namedropping popular characters and adding a comedic element that appeals to children (such as pranks or fart jokes) is just basic clickbate.

Believe it or not, these videos aren't pornographic, just watch a few. There is some content that will probably make some kids turn out to be fart fetishizing perverts or something, but no more than in traditional cartoons. This is nothing new and nothing to raise arms about, just limit your own children's exposure to media and spend more time raising them.
