Messianic Prophecy

Or does anyone plan on becoming "The One"?

I see Maitreya as more of a post humanity messiah, i mean, if the cycle of life and death is eternal, then we must expect it to surpass humanity own lifespawn.
Maybe then, the next messiah, will be the one who carries humanity messias ideals, to the next being capable of Enlightenment in the universe. Which could happen in millions of years only, thats why i believe the idea of a messiah, comes after the idea of an apocalypse, since the apocalypse will harbor human extinction and a age of darkness to the next "humans", until the messiahs return.
