Here's a secret, Junior. People hide who they are behind masks. Sometimes that mask is a curated version of who they really are, a best interpretation. Other times it's a flat out lie to enable horrible people to manage in society.

There are times the mask slips and you see who people really are. The anonymity of imageboards offers a chance to simply take it off and be honest, which is how this site can be both glorious and a festering sewer. Gurochan is simply a notch more intense.

For every person wanting to be the guy holding the knife, there's another person wanting to be cut. Their reasons are often far more complex than sadism or masochism. If you can accept that you're both of them, in parts of your heart you may not want to acknowledge, then you can get something transcendent out of the gory scene they together portray.

Dahmer wasn't just about gore, he had a thing about abandonment. That's why he tried to zombify some of his boyfriends, so they couldn't leave him. So he might have acted out anyway.
