Tell me about them, /x/. I have a general idea based on their wikipedia articles, but I know you can impart a much deeper understanding of them.
bump
Titans walked the earth along with other huge creatures and trees millions of years ago.
>but where are their skeletons then
They were petrified. Rocks are their body parts. Mountains are tree stumps, volcanoes are mounds. All other rocks are their corpses. Yes all rocks. Look up mud fossils.

So, trolls then?
Original inhabitants of this world along with the elementals. The invader entity and its lackeys made them flee or wiped them out. This is mentioned in pretty much all mythologies, new "deities" removing the original rulers, killing of titans and draconic entities, killing of Ymir and other giants plus Jormungandr, killing of Asuras, scorching of the Earth and imprisonment of Leviathan, etc.

Asuras are powerful, space-faring (they are described at times as traveling between and holding power over multiple planets) race at odds with the Suras/Devas (the Hindu pantheon). "Deva" meaning close to "divine," and "Sura" coming from a synonym with Aditya (Sun) rather than "opposite of Asura." The Puranas sometimes describe them as conquering and ruling the cosmos, though they are usually defeated by the Suras who get help from Vishnu. From a parable standpoint, the asuras generally characterize self-interest and advancement over concern and duty toward society. They are usually shown as well-educated and following the letter of Vedic principles, if not the spirit of them. In contrast, Rakshasas (which are similar to ogres/trolls/oni/demons) are powerful beings who are depicted as savage, unkempt, beastial, etc.
In the earliest texts, asura was a term for all the powerful lords, including being used for Indra and Agni. Later, the term was divided into categories:
Daitya - sons of Diti, considered bad
Adityas - sons of Aditi (sister and co-wife to Diti), considered good
Danavas - sons of Danu, mix of good and bad
Sura/Deva - a quality label rather than family, arose in the Puranic period when "asura" was limited to describing "bad people", considered good
The labels are not distinct categories, however. Note that Bali Maharaja is listed in their respective wikis as both a Daitya AND a Danava

They're personifications of entropy, decay, and degeneration, both from nature and society. Some aren't so bad however. Prometheus for one is a pretty good guy, and Frey's jotun wife Gerd is pretty damn sexy by all accounts.
