I feel you, friend. I was in your place until I realized it is all a matter of perspective.

Your thoughts are more powerful than you might think, in regards to how your life pans out around you. Believe you are asleep and trapped, and you will be just that as you look out your window at the awakening world.

I would suggest living in the moment. Ask yourself with each thing you do--is this creating something productive? Is this giving me true happiness or giving it to others?

Practices like that will awaken you... Not to a happening, but to your ego that tells yourself you are asleep and trapped. See your ego, starve it, and become its master.
