To me, it seems like Judeo-Christianity with more steps. Someone fill me in on it.
I always thought it was some roleplaying shit.

There's nothing spooky about religion, keep this garbage out of x

Where else do we talk about the supernatural? Sure, /x/ was meant for paranormal.
>>19385807
It's not easy to change your whole world view. That's all it is I have gone back and forth it's not an easy and mild step to believe in God atleast to me. But I have a feeling satan loves me more if they exist.
>>19387550
Wait sorry I was thinking about agnosticism.

Merely an intermediate step between noticing the falsehood of the bible and noticing the true religion.
>>19385807
started the same time as Catholicism. less government friendly, emphasis on meditation and saving yourself (more or less). popular Christianity had more media coverage and it was easier (Jesus did all the work for me). gnosticism is more self empowering (you are a divine spark trapped in a meat puppet and the only way out is to actualize your true god potential).
the origins of Christianity are fascinating to me as a former Christian. I think of it as an ancient version of one of these personal development programs that come out all the time, but instead of pseudoscience they just had myths and rumors. there were indeed several people named Jesus who were spiritual and political leaders at the time.
one theory is that the Romans appropriated a Jesus character that was pacifist (easier to defeat) and threw in some Jewish prophecy. then they sent out some people to say"have you heard the good news" and the rest is history. Roman psyops. which makes sense since they did end up taking over aaaand the center of Christianity is still in Rome to this day. (I know I'm skipping around a bit. I have insomnia; whatever.)

this.
it's an abrahamic faith with more spiritual and occult related aspects
you're not wrong pretty much

The Gloomy Ruler comes from the place of Shadow and Fog where Sophia hid him from the Unknowable God.
>>19387817
More of this please i forgot to save it last time.
>>19389398
Umm, that is total nonsense.
Gnostics rebel from the Abrahamic god.
To me, it seems like a warning about the potential to abuse the systems that inevitably coalesce around religion. Lion-headed snakes rarely good lions make. It's better to deal in actual lions than pretenders with agendas.
>>19389419
Untrue. They simply find the god to be a weak god, a half god. Many Gnostics worship Sophia
>>19389522
>Many Gnostics worship Sophia
See when you make statements like that you show your ignorance about Gnostics and who they see as God.

That's it as far as I'm aware.
And people cry out and pray to Arch Angels.
When they really come from Archons and the Demiurge.
They should instead call out to the Aeons / Luminaries.
>>19389731
go on

The Ogdoad or the Eightfold were the first Emanations of the One. Known as Four Luminaries said to come in both male or female aspects.
Angels are said to come from Heaven.
But Aeons come form the Pleroma.
Peoples intentions are being misdirected. They only know a shadow of the Fathers Realm. This realm we are in and its Rulers.
>>19389522
The Weak Half god is the Demiurge.
The Blind, Ignorant and Jealous god.
The Chief Ruler and the First Archon or as I like to call him the First Cuck an the Blind Worm.
The Gnostic God is the Unknowable One, the All. The Logos, the Monad. Ect.

What specific thing under the umbrella of things labeled gnosticism, was it you are asking asking about?
Gnosticism is a shit tier term to be honest, especially here, as it labels everything and nothing which people perceive as some alternate belief system of Christianity.
Valentinianism? Simonians? Sethianism? Or the modern LARPing that is more like the 'vampire' sects that sprung up in the 90s with all manner of horrid unsourced and misrepresented bastardized Egyptology fluff written around it?
>>19386132
Well what is it? Is it real? I don't know.

>(of a manifestation or event) attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature.
It tries to answer the question of suffering and why the world is so shit.
Answer: created by imperfect god
