Yes. All ancient peoples talked about giants. All sorts of animals come in different sizes. Tigers are giants to house cats.
Believing humanoids only work in our size because hurr gigantism makes you fucked up is stupid and short-sighted.
Ever been to a zoo and saw a Giraffe close by? If that shit is alive today then there's no reason for giants to not exist if their sizes are reasonable. Not to mention fucking dinosaurs, we have little idea how the earth actually functioned millions of years ago except for knowing there were plenty of huge animals due to increased oxygen rates in the air and shit.

But giraffes aren't a reasonable size. The effects of everyday living are immense for them. Biological constraints are a good reason for giants to not exist.
