I started out on /b/ in I think early 2012. I quickly became bored and later moved to /pol/ the day the Ukraine rioters started burning shit. That was early 2014. I lurked on /x/ here and there over the years and within the last few months it's become my favourite hangout.

If your interested. Under ideal circumstances I'm a centrist.

I went from being a athiest to agnostic to believing every religion is atleast paritally right with a bit of string theory thrown in.
>>
>>19357177
Lurked /b/ when I was underage technically back when it was sick green text posts everyday. I think I found it 2012 as well and slowly saw /b/ change. I tried every other board, /gif/ is my source for new porn most the time but /x/ has always been a favorite. Stories always got to me more than movies and shit. After lots of psychedelics I gotta say I believe in something religious. Probably more of a spiritual person it would be considered. I just don't choose sides.
>>
>>19357177
I've been lurking on and off since 2009 mainly because of school and everything and then became a summerfag for a minute. Mainly browsed /x/ /b/ /v/ /ck/. I find myself coming back to 4chan after the bs in my life settles when the dust clears mainly. I have been on more often these days and posting more as well.
>>
Shit I have said on the internet has ended up on shows like Ancient Aliens and numerous times on the Alex Jones show.
>>
>>19357191

Ive also impressed David Icke with some of my information about the Archons.
>>
Started to lurk /b/ at times, too much porn but not the right kind of porn, got excited there was some gore threads and thought it was the best shit ever, but never stayed much, then checked /vp/ and since I was into competitive play I stayed there and learned the basics of the chan, tried /a/, was called a pleb and thought of them faggots, then tried seasonal anime and ever since i've been posting there, then started lurking /co/, /x/ and /sp/, bit of /pol/ (before it became 100% trump propaganda), /asp/ and others from time to time when I'm bored.
>>
>>19357177
ive been on forums for 10 years so even back in 07 i lurked a few boards. was into it big when you dun goofed happened
>>
>>19357177
/b/ - late 2009, cycled through /lit/ /v/ /co/ /a/ /jp/ /tv/ /x/, /x/ is the one I always find myself coming back to. I've taken a few solid hiatuses over the years.
>>
>>19357188
I'm on here more when I shit than anything.
>>
The common route has always been /b/ > /a/ > a board you actually like, nowadays /pol/ and /v/ are so full of edgy idiots that they are the step right after /b/, when/if they stop being so retarded they go to another board and stop visiting their former, cancerous, home board.
>>
>>19357277
That was back when everybody came here for anime porn, nowadays kids come for the Trump or Goobergate kind of shit.
>>
I started in /b/ in 2006/2007 and ended up here. I went to /b/ a couple days ago and it's really turned to shit. It's nothing but ugly girls and there's nothing funny anymore. I loved /b/ back in the day. It was so good, in a bad way.
>>
>>19357300
i feel this. there used to be OC gold every day but now nothing original or funny shows up. Maybe once a month or someshit but its tough out here.

>I started in /b/ in 2006/2007
>I went to /b/ a couple days ago and it's really turned to shit
/b/ turned to shit 1-2 years before you got there
>>
>>19357404
Yeah yeah, they always said /b/ was never good. It was a hell of a lot better than the bullshit it is today. I haven't seen a single funny meme since I've checked it everyday for the past couple weeks.
>>
>>19357177
I had heard about 4chan in 2010. I just new it was some kind of "forum". It was not until I moved to the United States and became homeless that I started to come here. I've always been fascinated with aliens, so x was interesting to me. I also like b and gif, for the pornography and greentext. I've been here for a few months now, and I've realized how racist and full of hatred I am, which is good, because now I can control it.

Started around 2008:
7chan > /b/ & porn > /co/, /an/, /tv/, /tg/ & porn > added /x/ around two years ago
>>
must have been around 2007? everyone was talking about /b/ so I looked around there. Then realized 4chan has other boards. Mostly it's shit but once in a while there's gold (or at least bronze)

nowadays standard route is /an/ then /s/ then settle on /x/ for a while. Guessing that one of these days we'll see decent OC sprout up again
>>
>>19357177
I started about late 2006 because of something I read on the internet about /b/. I thought 4chan was some Asian hobby site and crazy internet hackers decided to just make the random board their base of operations. Because of this I never bothered going to other boards because I assumed it was just Asian people there legit talking about what was on the board name, and it made sense too since everything was fucking anime and origami. It wasn't until I noticed someone tell someone else to go to another board that I decided to check other ones and realized that 4chan wasn't just some Asian website, but an entire community. If that makes sense. I went to /x/ until about 2013, then moved onto /pol/ and /tv/.
>>
>>19357177
/d/eviant since 2004, /x/file since 2007.

I like weird shit, that's all there is to it
>>
>>19357177
been around for time, started on /b/ (as all do) then lurked on /g/ for what felt an eternity with a bit of to and fro between /x/ and /pol/../g/ is my main and /b/ when im bored /x/ has turned to a fuckin larpfest full of autist wannabes..recently joined as a pass user due to being given a shitty prepaid visa card or a works promo so rinsed it on here.
>>
Started coming in ~2006, to /b/ as is common. Became a habit and now, a decade later, I wonder why I'm still coming here.
I mostly participate on /x/, /k/, and /diy/. I lurk /his/, and /pol/ when I feel like reading the political opinions of retards.

I discovered 4chan in junior high, this was about a year or two after they were made, i still had dial up and i was searching for hentai and stumbled upon it.
This was when things were really getting going for them, the Scientology protests, doing it for the lulz, rick astly, nevada tan, etc.
4chan was a place for misfits and loners back then. The type of kid who was thrown out even from the nerd table at lunch.
It was less political too, more like just trolling everyone for fun, but when you think about it back then society in general was less up its ass and the sjw madness had not occurred yet.

4chan has changed now, more normalfags, most likely due too trolling the world too hard, the 2016 election, the fappining, inviting ebin mene's
4chan was the place for fat virgin losers, it was the hideout for losers, we know we are losers and we embrace it, we feel no shame and we troll normal fags, we embrace being the outsider, we throw away identity and cause chaos, we get reactions out of people for the lulz
on old 4chan you embraced being a weirdo freak, and i mean a real fucking freak, a freak that freaked out the freak, like piss bottle pedo bear pools closed due to aids goating people on webcam to kill themselves, torturing autists and teen girls, saving kittens, fapping to guro loli hentai never going outside or talking to people freak.

By the way, centrist are cowards who believe in nothing, the fact you think all religions are right also tells me the same.
You are a coward who is too scared to make a decision, you believe in nothing and maintain a negative status qou

>By the way, centrist are cowards who believe in nothing
Looks like someone doesn't know what a centrist is.
>>
Im old enough to remember the internet before streaming, social media, the chans, high speed internet, etc
The internet itself was a different place, used by enthusiast nerds, real slow, website desgind for desktops and not phone fags.

I think 2007, was the year the internet went to shit, i blame the iphone, now the internet is filled with normal fags, niggers and women.

I am not joking when i say the idea of a woman on the internet back then was laughable

remember rotton. com, newgrounds, ogerish, remember instant message, remember having to rent vhs from a store, remeber going to the library, remember having to wait a week for a new episode

It was around mid of November of 2007, I have already stumbled on chans while lurking for porn and I discovered /b/ and /gif/, I saw a pic of this character in this position spammed all over the place in several boards "what is this" was my reaction so I asked on /co/ what this was, I always liked cartoons so it became my non porn main board, then I discovered /x/ sometime in 2008 and yeah it was far more interesting, and the stories were far creepier, could read them for hours. By that time I had fell in love with a character in that same cartoon I was talking about earlier in my pic and called her "my waifu" despide her not being Anime and myself not liking Japanese shit that much honestly. I can't pinpoint when /x/ became so shitty, I guess it was around late 2009 when Slenderman started to be known outside the creepypasta fandom but there was still interesting shit, in 2013 or so, though, I lost all hope for this board, everything I saw was shitty tarot threads and succubus summoning threads...

The SJW fiasco happened because baby boomers were told by TV that they needed to have their kids in college to get a "good paying job" ( and they all could get in debt for college loans) no matter the degree, and since most people are morons most people joined social studies and shit like that, most of those generations graduated approximately in 2010+ combine their Communist Afro-Feminist brainwash with social media and smarthphones and voila! you have a couple of generation of nu males and femishits.

Makes me feel very old, I was 17 when I discovered 4chan I am now 28...

HOWEVER I remember some older chan called "iichan" existing before 4chan? am I right? well I remember it was in english and it was mostly Anime shit but they had 3D porn gifs and loli made with 3D models you know the ones, I remember posting about Hi Hi puffy Ani Yumi there so I guess they also had a board for western media?

Can anyone confirm? their logo looked like a GYM badge from pokemon.

I started on /b/ in the last quarter of 2004 and moved to /v/ early on - I forget when exactly. I've been to /v/ every day since (literally each and every day, I'm fairly sure), but I wander to nearly every other board on occasion. I believe you're strongly representative of the influx that really dramatically diminished 4chan's fun, nihilistic atmosphere. But I don't subscribe to the "4chan sucks now" assertion. I still manage to have lots of fun. Or possibly I'm just Stockholm'd as fuck.

Lurked /b/ all the way back in 2004 -2003

I remember my first visit the main page had some epileptic seizure inducing background of diagonal white and black flashing stripes that was put in place to scare away "newfags"

CP was rampant anytime after 9pm on /b/ people would post pics blatantly and there wouldn't be removal for hours.

/b/was mostly filled with funny pics and stories. On occasion they would brigade some website or person but it was usually discouraged "not your personal army" didn;t start until later.

I witnessed all the happenings first hand in real time, the rise of line trap, perfection girl, habbo hotel, hackers on steroids, dusty the cat, anon protests, chlorine crystals, all that shit. I ditched 4chan around 2008 or 2009 when a girl I was dating dumped me because "4chan is a creepy gross hole of immature assholes"

I think /b/ has had a greater influence on our current timeline than anybody realizes. /b/'s obesession with line trap and sentiment that fapping to trans people was ok because "dicks didn't touch" helped forward the "sexuality is a spectrum" ideology in gen Z.

I had some other examples of the change /b/ has caused but cant remember them now.

I have to defend my 4chan use to my friends, who are (perhaps oddly) younger and male. The rest of my friends have no idea what this place is or even aware of it's existence.

I am a 47 year old female from the U.S. I like 4chan because it gives me relatively unfiltered access to (primarily young male) minds I wouldn't have access to. At first I found 4chan fairly traumatizing, but after a few years I've accepted it as it is.

There seems to be a common tread of 4chins users like us oldfags.
Just read some of the posts in this thead and see how similar they are.
>usually involving starting on a board then branching to /x/ and finding it more intriguing than books or movies of the same variety (or equally so)
>often involve short breaks from 4chan, sometimes lasting years
>usually cycling through multiple boards and interests but coming back to one repeatedly
>etc, etc etc

This is either a weird oldfag phenomena to go along with the tumultuous history of the chans, some interesting insight into human nature, or perhaps a heavy dose of both.

I love the chans. Anon is the best. It's funny, there's the long time joke of this board only ever having one poster, named Anonymous, but weirdly enough it does become a sort of hive mind for lack of a better term, not necessarily hive mind like the borg or bees but a culmination of multiple separate minds with the same motivations.

idk. ;_; i miss intelle/x/t you're all still here, but we're over run like usual.
