Does it matter if you do rituals in your native language instead of English?

No...The words of power and god names should be in the original tongues, but other than that you're good. I believe the Libri of A.'.A.'. and OTO have been translated into several different languages.

So I have been reading a lot of Eliot and Pound lately, and they both seem very much influenced by occult philosophy. Especially Eliot. Has anyone else noticed this?

An interest in the classics of world literature very often blends into an interest in the occult and mysticism, yes. In both of them (particularly Eliot) you may be seeing the influence of The Golden Bough in particular, a book by anthropologist J.G. Frazer on comparative world mythology which was pretty groundbreaking for its time and suggested the story of Christ came from earlier stories of the life, death, and resurrection of pagan gods, the cross being related to tree-symbolism in pagan cultures, etc. It influenced both Eliot and Pound, and influenced Crowley deeply too, and pretty much influenced many of the major intellectuals of the da.y

probably too obvious to point out, but the waste land is a grail legend which he hoped would end in the rebirth of europe, or at least the reader, in the wake of ww1, if that was still possible.

"What is the city over the mountains
Cracks and reforms and bursts in the violet air
Falling towers
Jerusalem Athens Alexandria
Vienna London
Unreal

A woman drew her long black hair out tight
And fiddled whisper music on those strings
And bats with baby faces in the violet light
Whistled, and beat their wings
And crawled head downward down a blackened wall
And upside down in air were towers
Tolling reminiscent bells, that kept the hours
And voices singing out of empty cisterns and exhausted wells.

In this decayed hole among the mountains
In the faint moonlight, the grass is singing
Over the tumbled graves, about the chapel
There is the empty chapel, only the wind’s home.
It has no windows, and the door swings,
Dry bones can harm no one.
Only a cock stood on the rooftree
Co co rico co co rico
In a flash of lightning. Then a damp gust
Bringing rain

Ganga was sunken, and the limp leaves
Waited for rain, while the black clouds
Gathered far distant, over Himavant.
The jungle crouched, humped in silence.
Then spoke the thunder
DA
Datta: what have we given?
My friend, blood shaking my heart
The awful daring of a moment’s surrender
Which an age of prudence can never retract
By this, and this only, we have existed
...
I sat upon the shore
Fishing, with the arid plain behind me
Shall I at least set my lands in order? "

Great deal of tarot imagery in it too.

This year's July is a really odd time for me. It's like I am trapped in-between worlds, neither dead, nor alive. I'm both feeling extremely lonely, yet the thought of going out and meeting people disgusts me. My universal love, literal, strong feeling of loving every creature and every entity, not some christian wannabe love is mixed with my general hatred for myself, the world and the people. I mostly spend my days solitary now, either sleeping, or sitting in the bathtub for long, long hours, listening to music, thinking about the Unknown, reading every single bit of occult and paranormal I can find, living almost only off coffee, tea and cigarettes for weeks. At this point, I'm not even vegetarian - I have completely given up food. My usually high libido is now completely dead. This.... This is a really weird month. I feel like I am trapped in self-build limbo, like in the Tower of Silence, yet once I have found myself here, I cannot focus, I cannot be productive. This is a really fertile land I'm in, yet I don't have the tools yet. I need to read more books, maybe Evola, Crowley, and - what is important - I need to start meditating. I think I will really lose a lot of that potential if I won't find a master or mistress... I was thinking about contacting my town's Ordo Templi Orientis - it's good to live in a capital city, heh...

Is it worth it, my dudes? Also, I am looking for people to talk with, share experiences, train together...

>>
What's up wizards? I've got two more questions for y'all today.
1) Is blood a decent way to charge a sigil? I've been given wildly contrasting opinions on this
2) Would invocation work as a way to change my personality / gain the inspiration to keep working on my craft?
>>
>>19356412
1. Start with something else before you start fvking with blood
2. Yes.
>>
>>19356464
I've made a few sigils before. I don't think they worked too well. I chalk it up to them not being properly charged. I don't understand the stigma everyone has about blood, yet jerking off is completely acceptable.
As a follow up question to number 2, could one invoke historical figures such as Nikola Tesla?
>>
serious, non-agressive question to occultists :
do you really believe? if so, and if you consider yourself learned, is the way described by crowley and his associates the only "true" path to enlightenment?

personally, i find it hard to believe that the teachings of a self-taught 20th century british deviant that dabbled in egyptology (not trying to insult anyone, don't get me wrong) are the only right way, it all seems way too specific and contrary to its message of rejecting religious dogmas.

is the alchemy/magic stuff just a very elaborate metaphor? could i replace thoth with ronald mcdonald, given that i find some underlying meaning? if i reached conclusions like those of the initiated elders on my own through introspection and life experience, could i be considered enlightened? why do i even want to be enlightened, if enlightenment is binary and 0 is unenlightened and 1 is enlightened, then at what point do i switch from 0 to 1? why is enlightenment even good, how do you know it's an upwards motion instead of a downwards one, who created the notion of "enlightenment" anyways? am i worth less for being non-enlightened?

i'm very sorry if these are often asked or frankly dumb questions, but i sincerely want to know what you guys think, i've dabbled in this stuff for years but i never seemed to quite get it.
>>
>>19356504
Nikola Tesla was insane, mate. Not sure you want that kind of 'inspiration'.

Eitherway, I was about to post the same thing about blood.

Purely out of curiosity, does the blood has to be willingly given? No? Does it change anything?
>>
>>19356504
>>19356522
Why are you guys so fixated on blood? The act of "charging" a sigil has much more to do with your mental state and your ability to focus than any substance you use. You could absolutely use blood to charge a sigil but if you do so you should focus your entire being on the moment the knife tears through your flesh. The more powerful the "peak" experience is the more powerful the substrate
>>
>>19356522
That's fairly baseless. He was a total sperg but I wouldn't call him insane. Besides, who better to look to for engineering work? I'm trying to develop a new battery to sell to Samsung. It's a lofty goal but it would make me live easy for a while.

>>19356520
Aleister Crowley is just one of many. He attracted a lot of attention to himself through his lascivious lifestyle, so it makes sense his path is popular. There is no such thing as "absolute truth" in my opinion.
>>
>>19356551
It was merely curiosity. Besides, blood sacrifice has become a staple of media when it comes to magic, so it's obvious many come here with questions relating to the many tropes of magic in media.
>>
>>19356567
>>19356520 here, i'm by no means an expert but i've heard of blavatsky, gurdijeff and bardon, they strike me as intelligent but too absorbed in mythology, can any other practitioners weigh in regarding my questions?

This is a really really tricky question, and I'd probably need to know more about your context to even begin unpacking this question. Even if you were a vapid kinda dopey unreflexive prat, I'd err on the side of "none of my concern" rather than "worthless". All life is precious, but not all life is worth of my time and consideration even if I had Avalokitesvara's thousand arms. This doesn't mean "fuck you" it means "don't waste my time and I won't waste yours".

Well, if he's speaking English, then his concept of enlightenment in other religions is tainted by like a thousand years of use in nonBuddhist contexts from Suhrawardi through the Renaissance unto the modern New Age abuse thereof.

In fact, the reification of directionality tells me that he's not got a good frame of reference for the Indic/EA systems which have concepts of Bodhi, etc., that are WILDLY divergent from our notions of "Enlightenment".

The concept of Enlightenment is a Western concept. The concept of Bodhi is a Buddhist concept.

This isn't rocket surgery.

In keeping with them of previous conversation you don't need anyone to instruct you to get good at climbing. Buy a pair of shoes and a crash pad and google your local bouldering spots.

I don't really get it honestly.

Like I can tell Azoetia has Telismatic elements but I don't really feel like I'm missing any of that by working with a printed out copy from a PDF. The spiritual nature of the text is still there, even if my individual copy isn't covered with the author's semen. Maybe Jack did something different that requires the book. From what I can gather the leather binding is actually used in the rituals itself.

True. I just didn't want to go out and buy a bunch of ropes and picks and anchors shit then have no idea how to apply them. I trust myself much more with no equipment than with a bunch of equipment I was never properly trained on.

I bet if you were more open about publishing your original ritual effort and content people would give you the ol shoulder tap and send you their shit. For example I'm sure Jack or the people at the CS formal would be interested in your Eclipse ritual.

Here's a fun tidbit.

Heru Ra Ha translates to Horus with the Skin of the Sun.

The Hero Twins in Mayan myth?
They became the Sun and Moon gods after the conquest of the Death Lords in Xibola.
K'inich Ahau is that sun god. He is depicted wearing a specific Mayan glyph: K'in.
It designates 'skin of the sun'. Though his name is translated as Sun-Eyes, depictions don't vary much from the base here.

Heru Ra Ha is a composite deity of the brothers Ra Hoor Khuit and Hoor Paa Krath.

Small question, but one that might be important. When reciting Latin of any kind, is it best to use the pronunciation given to us from Vox Latina: A Guide to the Pronunciation of Classical Latin (Where 'v' is pronounced as 'w') or is it more correct to use the pronunciation that was common around the time the recitation was written?
>>
>>19358296
Just use the Church Latin of the priest that taught you. In my case it all comes out like foghorn leghorn.
>>
>>19358296

Proper movement of breath is more important than sound. Proper understanding of meaning in a coherent context is more important than proper pronunciation.

So the phonetics of the words matter less than the intended meaning themselves?
As in, I could accidentally slip back and forth between both of the pronunciations without screwing myself so long as the meaning comes across?
I've taken years of classical Latin, so for me it's a bit hard not to speak how I was taught to.
>>
>>19358354

Correct, you can more or less brute force anything as long as you have will enough, proper knowledge and are acting properly.

In any case if you are really really worried about screwing the ritual up, look into making and consecrating your own grimoire, the magical ability of the grimoire itself is that it allows the rite to be done properly no matter if the magician messes up or not. The Word has been written down and manifested as pages and ink, say it with faith and it shall be done etc. this is a good way of working around the worry of messing the ritual up or not.

how do bodhi and prajna differ?

First of all, they belong to different, but closely related, languages. Bodhi is a Pali word (Pali being a local and modified form of Sanskrit). Prajna is sanskrit.

Although bodhi can be translated as "understanding", its main meaning is awakening. The word comes from the Sanskrit verb budh, whose primary meaning is to wake up, to awaken. Buddha is usually translated as the "awakened."

Prajna means insight and wisdom. In Theravada it means recognizing the Four Noble Truths. In Mahayana it means recognizing the emptiness of all things. In Vajrayana, prajna gets a more complex meaning, assuming a role similar to shakti in HInduism. Prajna is described or portrayed as female, sometimes being the insight into emptiness, sometimes being the emptiness itself. In Vajrayana, she is the liberator, the one who grants freedom.

This thing says twelvefold table. Referred to here as "the holy twelvefold table of OIT" ?

>Above the altar is a veiled Figure, whose name is Pan. Those in the outer tier adore him as a Man; and in the next tier they adore him as a Goat; and in the next tier they adore him as a Ram; and in the next tier they adore him as a Crab; and in the next tier they adore him as an Ibis; and in the next tier they adore him as a Golden Hawk; and in the next tier they adore him not.
And now the light streameth out from the altar, splashed out by the feet of him that is above it. It is the Holy Twelve-fold Table of OIT.

>>>And upon a map of the stars shalt thou draw the sigil of that name; and because also some of the letters are alike, thou shalt know that the stars also have tribes and nations. The letter of a star is but the totem thereof. Uhh this is part of my larger-scale study around the letters Aleph and Lamed, so my "questions" are more of a stream of consciousness than anything I'm afraid.

I came to this thing because I was thinking possibly too hard about the fact that
ac changed the title of the Book of the Law from Liber L to Liber AL...

My first question is what possessed him to put in the A?

AC has this to say -
>In the first edition, this book was called L. L is the sacred letter in the Holy Twelve fold Table which forms the triangle that stabilizes the Universe. See Liber 418.

So that's how I got here asking about the table, ha. I'm less confused there now that I put the "zodiac" framework in place.

So like the places where you can see her own handwriting filling in bits for him, like Coph Nia for example, you think this is just a facsimile he made to obfuscate the fact that he'd lost the og copy?

And that he just reconstructed the grid page to throw people off the trail that he'd lost it?

Or you think he re-received the page + made the grid again, because in his mind it was every bit as received as the original?

I was actually just thinking about this, that the shifts in the dates could be an adaptation from the typical gregorian calendar to some other system that he chose. That seems vaguely plausible.

Pardon me.
I've noticed that you seem to be fucking up my shit.
What I mean by that, is that you or someone like you may be making incorrect assumptions about a specific set of beliefs and traditions that I practice on the daily.
If you would allow me to interject, I would like to kindly explain to you that The Madre Agua, otherwise known as Yemaya, Yemoja, Le Sirene, Mami Wata, and various other names in the African Diaspora is actually the goddess of the Moon ruled by Luna and also known as The Young Moon Goddess.
Her sister, Oshun - also known as Mama Chola or Mama Scholan is actually ruled by the planet Venus.

Most of the Orisha/Orixa/Mpungo are not normally associated with Western Planetary correspondences.
But, there are actually pieces of the mythology that say Madre Agua is the Young Moon Goddess. She actually has a different name in this aspect - which I can not find anywhere at all at the moment.
She was given the name by Tierra Tiembla after she was raped by Zarabanda and the innocent piece of her soul flew up to heaven and became the Moon.
Mama Scholan is also a water goddess, but she rules over fresh water where Madre Agua rules over salt water (sounds similar to tears as well, doesn't it? salt water?)
Other correspondences I have seen published are:
Tiembla Tierra/Obatala - Sol
Zarabanda/Oggun - Mars
Lucero Mundo/Eshu/Ellegua - Mercury
Padre Tiempo/Orunmila - Jupiter
Tata Nfumbe/Babalu Aye - Saturn

Quimbanda is the least traditional African of the diaspora.
It's extremely Eurocentric, which I'm sure you've noticed based on some of your recent past comments.
I don't understand why they keep mixing Lucero up with everyone else and making all these Caminos/Paths and dressing him up like the Christian devil and turning him "evil".

I can say this without a doubt - Lucero/Exu/Eshu/Ellegua/Nkuyu/Nkuyo is Mercury - not Mars.
He is heavily associated with Mars in Quimbanda from what I've seen but that is because they have mistakenly switched him with Gu/Ogun/Oggun/Oggoun/Sarabanda/Zarabanda/Rompe Monte.
Quimbanda is so confused on what it wants to be and heavily infiltrated and confiscated.
I would honestly lump Quimbanda in with the Luciferians and Theistic Satanists as another Dualist/Abrahamic faith the more I think about it.
I think the only thing left "Black" about it is the "Khem/Quim" in it's name.

I have a stupid question if any of you would like to entertain:

Tonight I had a dream where some "flubber"-like (pic related) "animal" was instructed to me by some guide as an harmless organism. I was told to hold it in my hand, that it would set a "home" and "marry". Nevertheless it tied the four fingers of my right hand (excluding thumb) and started going back and forth very violently until it disappeared into me. I could say it reached my frequency. And then I woke up with a tingling sense in the tied up parts of my right hand.

Overall this seems harmless but it felt like an intrusion and I would like your opinions on it if I should be worried.

Thanks.

You may want to get more specific about your predicament, different illnesses require different medicines

Would any of you fine gentlemen happen to have a lead on a scan of "Towards Aquarius" by a one Vera W. Reid?

Ok I did the LBRP but I'm pretty sure I fucked it up at some point. Feel some vibrations in me but it's always hard for me to meditate because I'm so tense, so I didn't fully enter the moment.

Apart from overall tinglishness I can't say anything else. Is there a simpler protection than LBRP you would offer?

There's the whole crossroads thing, but it's only temporary. When your contract is up he'll send the hellhounds to track you down and drag your ass to hell. That doesn't really sound worth it.
Why not just practice a lot and do it on your own?

>I'm so tense
loosen up and energetically explore you body. Focus on each muscle until it relaxes while you breathe steadily but slowly. Once you're confident that you can do this without getting distracted focus on your right hand and feel what's there

I can't do this naturally, because my tenseness is permanent, but when you said muscle I remembered the relaxation into stretch exercises I did which contracts the muscle and exhausts it until it relaxes. So I will do that. Thank you again.

Out of curiosity, have any of you ever used a love spell that worked? Did you regret it? Was it a spell to force their will or to only place the suggestion to bring them to you? I read on Reddit of someone who used a love spell to reconcile with an ex and they've now been happily married from some amount of years and are expecting their second child.
I'm mainly interested in your experiences and opinions of above, but if you also have any suggestions of spells that will help me open a line of communication to someone that will bring closure and positive/constructive communication would be awesome.

Thank you in advance.

if you're the dude that was posting about talking to the person who doesn't want to talk to them from the other threads I would still strongly recommend you wait or move the fuck on with your life

Nope! Not me. I have only asked for one tarot read on progress for a communication spell and that was weeks ago.
