Not sure, was it love or lust? usually letting love happen is a good thing. Christ was crucified, so love doesn't always mean you won't have to face pain. What I found is that love with attachment for others will usually lead to some form of loss and suffering. Love of soul and spirit that doesn't put expectations towards others is a constant if you are diligent.

I have struggled with this pseudo metaphor for quite some time. I believe in a way, the coming of Christ is like the male and female being united as one, birthing the child. Fruitless sexual intercourse has some level of death involved for the cells that didn't become new life. Still, I don't have very much experience with relationship, it could be that its my own religious programming talking here.
