So... I think I'm done transcribing "The Secrets of Albertus Magnus." Can finally get around to reading the EGYPTIAN Secrets.

(Disclaimer: Neither were probably written by him.)

What's the best way for me to upload and share for whoever wants some old 17th century pseudoscientific gibberish? Someone mentioned Dropbox. I have two versions, depending on preferences: One with the "Long S" character, and one with the modern S.

I thought about cleaning up the spelling errors even more but I didn't want to detract too much from the original style.

Pastebin might be too much for two versions of a book. I've got them in epub format.

Not sure if it'd be worth me making a mega just for one book though. Was thinking about TinyUpload or ZipShare or something, Google Docs or Dropbox... I dunno, something that doesn't need much signup.

This is all new to me, let's give this a shot then.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6vg5785hj7n2lbl/AACCBNayYo0ZLSZSbWR-t1cFa?dl=0

Take your pick, I suppose. The PDF is the original source for anyone who wants it, but the epubs are my cleanup job. If there are any problems with either of those, please let me know guys, I have a tendency to be a lazy perfectionist - not taking all precautions I should to ensure I did a good job, but freaking out if I find out I didn't.
>>
>>19341834

>>
>>19341838
Not a problem. It was fun.

I don't suppose it's particularly useful from the standpoint of a practitioner, but I thought it was nevertheless a fascinating read.
>>
>>19341803
Loosely. I'll fuck with anything in the category of applied aesthetics ha. The only thing that stuck is the placement of my bookshelf. Feng Shui hugely complicated, as it turns out (which shouldn't have been a surprise to me).
>>

You need more Abhinavagupta.

>>19341834
Thanks mate.
>>
>>19341875
>how did you scan them?
I wouldn't know, I found the PDF online. I only found it and realize parts of it were damn near illegible, so I went about cross-referencing with other versions I could find, Googling, and exercising my own judgment where everything else fell flat.

Damn, if I had a proper physical copy, that would be so cool.

I'm still uncomfortable with some of the work (mostly with some of the archaic names for plants, stones, etc.) but I hope I didn't botch it too badly.
>>
>>19341887

Hey ape you never answered in the last thread so I'll repost the question.

Hey ape question out of the blue, you ever work with the enochian governor "PARAOAN"

I read the idea you had to ask the enochian entities about what Buddha taught them, i've enjoyed a lot of work with them but I think it might be fun/rewarding to try that framework.

I specifically ask of paraoan because I subscribe to the theory that he is the governor of the first gate, that is to say he rules hyperspace/the points in between where the 91 governors rule the rest of the parts of the earth/

He's the "invisible governor"

This is what is said of him "“Every letter in Paraoan is a living fire, but all of one quality and one creation. But unto N is delivered a viol of destruction”. Any part of the world by which this was touched would “be consumed with fire and swallowed into hell, as Sodom was for wickedness"

I figure him and baligon/Hegonel/carmara would be the best angels to ask no?

Lol the translator is apparently a Leo. The lion-vibes have been inescapable for me recently.

I learned (or relearned in this case) that the path on the TOL attributed to Leo, Teth, spans between chesed and geburah, which was interesting because Shaula and I were comparing Ebony Anpu and AChumbs in terms of their respective Chesed-ian and Geburan attitudes towards spirituality and sexuality. It's cool that those two things spheres turn about the anchor of the path attributed to Lust.

Related ish, In Ebony's esbats he associates Jasmine with the lion and Rose with the eagle. After the new moon the other day I had a dream that one of my good friends (a Leo) walked up to me and gave me a copy of the Book of the Law, red cover, its pages the pages printed on jasmine leaves, paper pressed from the plant. It was supposed to be like a way to have the fragrant experience of jasmine as you turned through the pages, but it was old, and dusty, and barely detectable. Its previous owner had like shredded random pages, sort of in the style of "paste the sheets from right to left." The date of the edition was 1938. There was also an illustration in the back, a pop art version of the famous painting The Great Wave. It was weird.

psh my Leo roommate has a giant lion tattooed on his chest and he just walked into my room as I was writing this. heh.

I'd advise any initiates to read Atikinson's works in the first link before anything else though, specifically in this order:

1. The Kybalion
2. The Arcane Teachings
3. The Arcane Formulas
4. The Science of Breath Note: Contained within the 2013 Series Lessons book
5. Mind Power: The Secret of Mental Magic
6. Psychomancy
7. Mental Influence
8. 2013 a Series of Lessons
(2014 edition sucks)
9. Personal Power (of special importance is the Desire Power subsection of this book, which deals with how to use loosh)

This gives a good frame of refrence with which to delve into the other books.

hi guys, today I tried charging my sigil after creating it and doing all the correct rules, whilst i was trying to charge it I was seeing really scary stuff like a picture from mid 1900s of a family all dressed in white, everything very pale and dreamy expect for their eyes which were literally completely black, the family had about 4-5 members and the wife looked very psychotic for some reason. If anyone has experienced anything similar/knows anything about this then a reply would be helpful, thanks.

Thoth I have an issue.
Working with Goetia, I can reliably get intended results but I have yet to have any experience speaking to, hearing, seeing, getting mental images, etc. from any entity of any kind.
Like I said, I have gotten my intended results and I would consider my work to be successful. But really it's just frustrating to do this with no kind of recognition or even the ability to ask a damn question and get an answer.

Last time I tried to contact an entity I stared into a scrying ball for nearly an hour and saw nothing, heard nothing, etc.

Any suggestions?

I need some advice here. I am trying sigil magick and I have seen several methods to do it, in most of the techniques capital letters are used and no vowels are deleted, only repeated letters; In other cases I have seen that they use combined upper and lower case letters, in addition to erasing vowels and repeated letters. But isn't it the nature of Hermeticism to assimilate things that don't explicitly disagree with it? Like Kabbalah during the renaissance. So far in a explorations, it seems to be Golden Dawn styled magical practice that just so happens to have Raja Yoga being practised along side. What is wrong with this? Can I ask what you practice instead, just so I can have a better idea of who I'm talking to. I can see why Thelema is attractive to casual half-arsers, but I've also met Thelemites who are some of the most educated, philosophically mature and dedicated occultists/mystics I've yet to meet.

Yes, a lot of it is poetry and bulky, worthless ritual that takes 10 times as long as it should for shit-tier results. Anything good it has, other systems have it better.

I highly recommend Franz Bardon's Initiation into Hermetics. Ignore the Theory section.
>>
>>19346294
Well this doesn't help me much. I've looked at IOH before but had people on /x/ telling me that it's shit so I bought a bunch on books on mostly G.D stuff by Regardie and all that and ended up looking at Crowley/Thelema a few months ago. Still looking around though. I don't see myself going back to looking at Bardon but thanks for the input.
>>
>>19346312
What are you trying to do?

Rumi say- "Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray."
>>
>>19346332
This isn't the place for me to write a long, heartfelt autobiographical account of how I ended up looking into magical occult stuff. I've ended up looking at Thelema. So far I can't see what's wrong with it and want more experienced practitioners of such things to try and tell me why it's shit, but the vast majority of attacks on Thelema revolve around Crowley's flaws as a person, which, although I don't ignore that side of pondering whether or not Thelma will be worth my time, noone ever seems to be able to give a real description of what the A.'.A.'. system of practice is lacking or does wrong, its only ever "oh but Crowley was an asshole, did heroin and ate shit so SEGALBGBALJEG FUCK THEMELA". It's not difficult to get Thelemites to tell me what they like about Thelema's style of practice, but I want to get a balance of opinions as a part of my exploration of whether or not a want to put my seatbelt on and decided that Thelema is something that will get me somewhere if I put my time into it long term.
I've always had problems with indecisiveness and want to feel like I know damn well what I'm signing up for before I go contacting an A.'.A.'. lineage, or joing O.T.O. or whatever. You feel me?

Does anyone know what the oldest physically preserved sigils (of any kinds) are?
>>
>>19341317
So does anyone have any experience with Nosferatu looking things?

I tried to do some basic magic stuff a little while ago and had just made a little ball in my hand, and while I was trying to figure out what to summon or speak to, I saw hands. Little grabby hands with claws, and I saw this skinny Nosferatu looking thing with huge red eyes crawl out of the ball like it was a flat portal. I felt paralyzed, cold sweat on my skin, my heart started hammering in my chest, and when I opened my mouth to scream nothing came out. It came closer and it pressed its face against mine, so even when I closed my eyes I could see its face. There was this cold stuff on my face, like I had dunked my face in jello. It just sat there and stared at me while my heart pounded and terror raced in my mind, but I regained my senses and was able to chase it away after a time.

Does anyone else have anything on this subject? I feel really weirded out, cuz I barely believe in any of this shit, but the cold feeling of terror was so blisteringly real.
>>
>>19346446
Yes.

Short. Chubby. Red eyes. Spindly hands. Oblong head. Maw of fangs.

I dunno what they are. My friends who don't practice jack shit have seen them in the woods near where I do my Work during night hikes.

One tried to crawl in bed with my SO and I. Caressed her leg. She went BALLISTIC.

It's probably just some kind of low-key astral gribblie. Don't give it fear to feed on.

Sorrow to hear and see,
How awful is your progress,

Though one thing I adore,

I'm getting sick of having this discussion ever four days.

Bardon is neither Initiatory nor Hermetic. The text he presents has zero grounding in the Corpus Hermeticum, Chaldean Oracles, the Arabic Grimoires (secretum secretorum, etc.), or any other contemporaneous materials. Moreover IIH offers zero in terms of a funtioning initiatory ritual, and seems to contain zero coherent reference to Freemasonry, early Gnostic initiations, the functional mystery cults, SRIA, OoGaRC, HOoGD, or the traditions using Dee's keyword for three hundred years.

1) They are written by actual initiates.
2) They do not claim to impart initiation or outlines of systems they have nothing to do with (as IIH does).
3) At least three of them have extensive citations and footnotes, whereas each of them are carefully researched for historicity
4) Each is supported by a school of initiates which can help you parse through them.

Dude, I'm not gonna lie to you. Smoking dope all day and pretending to be Merlin on Peyote is no better than your cousins huffing petrol.

It fucks your mind all the same.

>offers zero in terms of a funtioning initiatory ritual

"Initiatory" doesn't mean "having undergone an initiation ritual". Your only legitimate criticism is that Bardon pretty much misnamed his system "Hermetics" when it really wasn't. That doesn't make the practices worthless or any less initiatory, except by your own re-definition and need for lots of Hebrew "words of power".

what an egregiously shitty thing to do. It's almost like he's kind of a con artist

unless you consider advice for how to properly take a shower or record in a diary initiatory it absolutely does

This is probably, the best place to start.

You realize, through people like Hall, that you actually need to be a learned scholar before you can have any serious opinion on something like religion or the occult.

BALG, Chaos, Thelema and so forth are generally the live, laugh love megachurches of magickal practice.

I like Hermeticism.

Tell her what's really going on.
She's on a forum - type it out and send it.
She'll thank you later.
Or at least look back on it and be happy someone at least tried to talk some sense into her.
May take a while, but eventually.
When feelings get involved, people say and do dumb shit.
Emotions drive 80% of all decision making.
Logic drives only 20%.

imho, it's not the end of the world. A time of change no doubt, but not the end. The Abrahamic lore doesn't have a concept of cycles like most other large bodies of religious lore do, so every time there's a big change they freak out. I for the life of me cannot recall the exact sauce on this, but I swear I read somewhere years ago in some sort of history text that at the time leading up to the year 1000 people were freaking out really bad because they thought that was going to be the time of the second coming and the end or whatever. The same sort of thing on a lesser scale happened leading up to 2000, and to 2012. I can't blame people, big changes are scary, but to take an apocalyptic bent to it seems like a bit of an overreaction.

>True black magic is performed with the aid of a demoniacal spirit, who serves the sorcerer for the length of his earthly life, with the understanding that after death the magician shall become the servant of his own demon. For this reason a black magician will go to inconceivable ends to prolong his physical life, since there is nothing for him beyond the grave.

Thanks man. I had a talk to her today and it's even worse than I imagined. She's fucked beyond all recognition. Ultimately, I pussed out and said "it's not my business, it is my business to wish you the best". I have no interest in this woman other than the fact she reminds me of someone that I saw almost treated like this before.

I'm firing up some sigils anyways. Not sure if you'll even see this because the thread is on auto sage but thanks for taking the time to reply

You tried, that's all that matters.
NOW, if you want to try other methods go for it.
You've exhausted Physical/Rational options.
