As a being with limited 4d perception myself, it seemed the channeler, and all the readers formed some kind of egregore where they were feeding off of each other.

There are multiple ways channels can function, one is as a channel of information. The other as a channel of energy. The information channels can give interesting stuff, but it isn't likely to cause a big shift in the consciousness. Well, the vision was a very weird one with a creepy vibe. There was a stage and an audience.
