Black Stones - “Ancients” of the Sabretooth Clan who have celebrated their 13th anniversary since their Rites of Transformation.

Black Swans - those who are not Sabretooths, who are but allies and supporters of the Current, such as friends, dayside family, lovers, etc.

Black Veils – the teachings, traditions and culture of the Sabretooth Clan.

Blood & Roses - an official hand-fasting or marriage blessing between members of the Sabretooth Clan.

Brood - the year an individual went through the Rites of Transformation, like the “class of.” So,, if an individual got their fangs in 1995, they would be “of the brood of 1995.”

Cirque, The - the central “Vampire Theatre” performance point of an Endless Night Salon or Ball at midnight, including several acts such as the Howl, dance, music, and ritual, and finished with a costume contest.

Chronology - the official history of the Sabretooth Clan as noted in Vampire Chronology, the Memoirs of Father Sebastiaan.

Coming Out of the Coffin - going public about your “nightside” vampire lifestyle and not hiding it from co-workers or family.

Conclave - the annual gathering and retreat of the Sabretooth Clan, an Inner Court event.

Courts - gatherings of the Sabretooth Clan and the Legacy. Outer Courts are public and all who meet the Gatekeeper’s dress code, adhere to the posted code of respectful conduct, and are of legal age are welcome to attend. Inner Courts are private events for members of the Sabretooth Clan and invite only to select guests.

Current - the collective vibe and spirit of the Legacy, Sabretooth Clan and Endless Night, like a team spirit or school spirit.

Dayside - the mundane, real world, opposite of the Nightside of the Vampire World.

Discordant - someone outside the Legacy who intentionally or unintentionally opposes the Sabretooth Clan. AKA “haters.”

D’Drennan - or “D” is an artist who, although not a full Sabretooth member (Ronin), is honored in the Sabretooth Clan for designing the Legacy Ankh in 1996 as commissioned by Father Sebastiaan.

Endless Night - semi-private “Outer Court” events produced by the Sabretooth Clan. The main event, the Endless Night Festival, has taken place on Halloween weekend in New Orleans since 1998. Attendance is open to the public as long as they are not discordant and adhere to the dress code, code of conduct, and age requirements.

Elders - “Purple Stone” members of the Sabretooth Clan who have celebrate 5 years since their Rites of Transformation.

Father - title held by Father Sebastiaan, founding Father of the Sabretooth Clan and The Legacy.

Family, The - an internal familiar term for the Sabretooth Clan and its members.

Fang Day - a celebration on the day of going through the Rites of Transformation.

Flame, Order of The -the Inner Circle who are members of the Sabretooth Clan recognized for their dedication to the Current. They are the movers and shakers of the Family, dedicated to administrative tasks such as moderating the forums, event production, performance, etc. Their membership may be completely confidential or public.

Fraters - Red Stone members of the Sabretooth Clan who primarily identify as male and have gone through the Rites of Transformation more than a year and a day. The Latin term for brothers.

Festival - annual event in Endless Night Festival New Orleans on Halloween, including the Vampire Ball, Masque, Court, and Salon.

Fledglings - “White Stone” an individual who have just gotten their fangs and are new to the Sabretooth Clan by just going through the Rites of Transformation. They may bear a white stone in their Legacy Ankh.

Flaventia Halo - Barcelona, Spain Halo. Consecrated in 2003.

Gatekeeper - the person in charge of enforcing the rules of an Endless Night event, such as dress code and guest list / ticketing.

Haven - a nightclub frequented and friendly to the members of the Sabretooth Clan, including the historical havens of Mother and the Bank in NYC, The Castle in Tampa Florida, the Church in Dallas Texas, and Bar Sinister in Los Angeles.

Halo - a city with a Sabretooth Clan and Current presence.

Howl - the beginning of the Cirque and group ceremony at midnight during the Endless Night events.

Hunting - a term for sarging in PUA style.

Fred Samedi - the spirit who is the “ghost host” mascot of the Endless Night events. He is a recognised Loa in the Voodoo tradition of New Orleans

Kitra - the Pulse of the Sabretooth Clan Current representing the Black Veils of Witch, Seduction, Sensuality and Romance.

Gotham Halo - New York metro area Halo. Consecrated in 1995.

Impresario – historically a sponsor / organizer of an opera, theater or play. This is the title of Father Sebastiaan for the Endless Night events.

Inner Court - the private event of the Sabretooth Clan. The gates are only open to those who have gone through the Rites of Transformation or have been specifically invited at the request of a Sabretooth member in good standing.

Lighting Bay Halo - the Tampa Florida Halo. Consecrated 1997.

Legacy - the collective term for the projects of Father Sebastiaan, including Sabretooth Clan, Endless Night events, Vampire World YouTube channel, and related projects, past, and present..

Legacy Ankh – the curved bladed ankh symbol of the Legacy and Sabretooth Clan, created by the “Risen” artist Master Metal D’Drennan as commissioned by Father Sebastiaan in September 1996.

Legends - mundane myths and legends of history outside the Legacy about vampires, including Highgate Cemetery, Dracula, Bathory, etc.

Lutetia Halo - Paris France Halo. Consecrated in 2006.

Master of Ceremonies - the host of an Endless Night / Vampire World event.

Magnus - the official title of Victor Magnus, the Chief Operations Officer of the Legacy.

Masque - a special Endless Night / Vampire World “Eyes Wide Shut” adult, sensual private party, which requires masks.

Moot - a private dinner party for members of the Inner Circles, special guests and invited Black Swans.

Muses - alternative and fashion models who are Sabretooths and represent the Vampire World project.

Mradu - the Pulse of the Current energy representing the Black Veils of Chivalry, Love, Warrior and Honour.

Mundane - a daysider who is not initiated into the Sabretooth Clan and knows nothing of our world.

Muggle - an alternative world for non-Vampire.

Mythos - the legends and story of the Legacy, Sabretooth Clan, and Endless Night.

Nesting - finding a place in a crowded area to make a temporary meeting point.

Nightside - one’s Sabretooth “vampire life” separate from their “dayside” mundane life. Example: “Nightside Family” refers to others in the Sabretooth Clan.

Outer Court - events and activities open to the public world which are not private to the Sabretooth Clan members. These include Endless Night events, public groups on social media, websites and the like open to mundanes, seekers, and Black Swans.

Ramkht - the Pulse of the Current energy representing the Black Veils of Magic, Ritual, Knowledge, Dreams and Secrets.

Red Stone - a Sabretooth Clan member “Soror” or “Frater.” After a year and a day from their Rites of Transformation, they may wear a red stone in their ankh.

Risen - members of the Sabretooth Clan or allies who are immortalized in the Chronology and no longer with us in the physical form, for example, Jeniviva (bellydancer) and D’Drennan (creator of the Legacy Ankh).

Rising - a vampire funeral for a member of the Sabretooth Clan and Legacy, immortalizing the individual in the Chronology.

Rites - different ceremonies and rites of passage for members of the Sabretooth Clan such as Blood & Roses, The Cirque, the Howl, and the Rites of Transformation.

Rites of Transformation - the ceremony of getting fangs made with Father Sebastiaan and becoming a Sabretooth, including sub rites of Oath, Oracle, Mirror, Naming and Ankh. The rites are the most and formal basic initiation into the Family.

Ronin - a highly solitary individualistic member of the Family who is not associated with any Pulse and not fully active within the Sabretooth Clan.

Phoenix Warrant - an official sanction for a business endorsed by the Legacy to use the Legacy Ankh design for profit as long as it is handmade and not mass produced. This applies to tattooists, artists, musicians, etc.

Pulses - one of the various houses or bloodlines frequencies of the Current of the Sabretooth Clan, each representing a specific Black Veils.

Purple Stones - a term for “Elders” of the Sabretooth Clan after 5 years from their Rites of Transformation.

Psychic Vampire - 1. Traditional (AKA emotional vampire): an individual who creates needless stress and drama and seeks negative attention. 2. Ethical: an individual who believes they have a vital energy deficiency and they need to balance it through consensual energy exchange.

Sabretooth - any individual who has gone through the Rites of Transformation with Father Sebastiaan.

Sabretooth Clan - the Family of all those who have gone through the Rites of Transformation.

Salons - regional “mini-vampire balls” which bring people to New Orleans.

Sanguinarium - the old term for the private Sabretooth Clan online forums from 1995-2016. No longer in use because if its close reference to a sanguinarian or “blood drinker.”

Sanguinarian / Sanguine - referring to a human being who believes they must drink human blood to balance their own mental, physical and spiritual health, often identifying with the vampire culture. This is not a practice endorsed within, or an official activity of, the Sabretooth Clan.

Strigoi Vii - an esoteric path practiced by some members of the Sabretooth Clan. Strigoi Vii is by invitation only and by apprenticeship; members serve as the spiritual priesthood akin to “Jedi” and “Sith.”

Walpurgis - May 1st, also known as the Night of Witches and Beltane to pagans, is a celebration observed by the Family as the halfway point to Halloween.

White Stone - new Sabretooth Clan members, fledglings who have just gone through the Rites of Transformation.

Vampire Ball - a large scale Endless Night event which includes the Cirque, full dress code, and Master of Ceremonies.

Vampire World - 1. the public documentary series and YouTube Channel about Vampire Legends.

Vampyre - the older term used from 1995-2015 referring to an individual who is into the Vampyre lifestyle. As of 2016 it is not in common parlance.

Veils - another term for Black Veils.

Zealot - someone who takes the Vampire World too seriously. We love life, so have a sense of humor.

Zoa - the guardian spirits of the Sabretooth Clan which represent a mask to the shapeless energies of the Current. The Pulses are named after them, including Kitra, Mradu, and Ramkht. They are akin to Saints in Catholicism or Loa in Voodoo.
