I do the kind where you think things out atleast a hour or so a every day. Not done the type where I clear my mind for more than a few minutes at a time. Most of the time I can see colours that don't exist and geometric patterns within a minute but nothing more than that.

Excellent, that exercise is programming your subconscious. Now next level: breathe. If clearing your mind is challenging, try a mantra. Anything that resonates with you. Even focusing on water or a candle can help push you forward. Fine tuning your mind is the path to everything. Try pattern recognition afterwards.

The first time it happened was probably within the last month. Before that I just tried to think things over. I had just been on a cannabis tolerance break and I noticed that when I closed my eyes colours I couldn't even describe and patterns would match the music I was listening to.
