Hello /x/, /vg/ here.
I know how much you guys love solving mysteries and while this may not be a real world mystery, it still hasn't been solved for almost a year. We've been coming up with theories for absolutely everything to solve it and yet, nothing. The staff of Oldschool Runescape has given us our last hint "all you need is time" and that was almost a week ago. This is driving people beyond insane and yet they've stated that people with no prior knowledge of the game can solve it.
If anyone is interested I can post/link all we've figured out so far. Pic related is supposedly everything we need to solve it.

Alright, I'll try to make sense of this going off pic related. First off!

This is suspected to mean 1 of 3 things. Either half of a coordinate (10 north, 5 west), paces from a specific point to dig at or the amount of letters and what they start with. In this case, Nature Rune and Watch (which I don't really agree with but mods have stated that 3 items are required to prevent people mass digging over the entire world). We don't even know if a spade, which is needed to dig, is 1 of those 3 items.

>Yellow Lines
This is where things got tricky for us. By linking all of the yellow lines together and using a matching program; we had found that it only matched one small island in the game. That island only contains nature runes (which the thetas are directly on). This is another reason why people might think that a nature rune is required + a mod tweeted that it is indeed relevant. We don't know if the yellow lines have another use or not.

Oh I forgot to note that 10 trees are facing north and 5 trees face west. Keep in mind that this is the 5th clue so the X's don't appear to have a use as they're the locations of the first 4.

I'm not all that familiar with this part but when lined up, they allegedly point towards the clocktower, which is where one can obtain a watch. They may or may not have another use.
