Neither Hermetic nor Initiatory. Liber ABA is much better pound for pound.

Have you seen any texts that are similar to his approach? I started reading this but the psychological steps involving writing down your personality traits and attributes seemed like a waste of time. His exercises seem similar to Jung's approach to alchemy with the identification of archetypes.

I'm not aware of texts with similar approaches.
I recently completed the Mirrors. I was dubious of the value of doing so but ultimately I am glad that I took the time (and they do take a lot of work). I think if you're going to endeavor on a project as esoteric as IIH you need to fully trust instructor. Bardon is emphatic regarding the importance of the Mirrors.

Except for the last part. And the first two parts. Otherwise, yeah.

I'm pretty sure the exercises in "Mysticism" and the formulas in "Magick" are quite a bit more significant and relevant than Franz "I'm a reincarnation of the *historical* Hermes Trismegistus" Bardon's falsely named book.

Yes, obviously, but that's such a very low bar...
Point being, MTP, is golden. The rest of Book 4, not so much.

I tend to agree. I got a lot out of it, though. That and Liber O are excellent for reference material, anyway.

Part II is worth it for this. Still my fav:
