let's discuss the formal temples, organizations and such of Buddhism.
I want to know what the Formal schools are,their locations, doctrine(?) so on. I know they arent such a bunch of monks running around.

its lineage? and so on.

there's a temple around my area, they pray to and worship wood, stone, silver, and gold statues for fortune, health, and luck. I know this because my friend kisses the statues for good luck. Individuals pay x amount of money or "donations", by the end of the year they collect and go vacation.
