US aim to send troops into space

IMO making the space corp out of the navy would be better the navigation and location terms they already use fit better in space. Also they would be using space ships so Captain and admiral works better for the commanding ranks.

The navy has fighter aircraft also. They are launched from a carrier. If the larger ships have the weapons to fight they will need to have during solutions much like the navy uses. The terms wouldn't need to be changed at all. I was in Army aviation for 10 years and I can tell you that we don't have the proper terms for use in space.

Even if they did, they aren't equipped to handle most of the issues that plague what happens to the human body upon entering space for prolonged periods of time. Unless it is just a brief space jump.

Also, there is some commercial interest in space, though it's still a meme. Having a response team in case a private or public funded space station/satellite related to national interests gets fucked up or taken "hostage" is quite useful.
