I recently went inside an abandoned hospital, post experiences you have,
What about the risks such as asbestos?
>>
asbestos only becomes a hazard if you start smashing through walls/ceilings
try to be as ninja as you can.
try not to cut yourself obviously, inhaling shit would be a bad idea.
there are mould spores almost as bad as asbestos.
anthrax being an extreme example

Be careful if you're entering a place that's a bit burned down. I fell through a stair case once because I wasn't paying attetion to it and I almost broke my leg. It was fun tho

Also, don't be scared of ghosts and shit, be scared of violent junkies, drug dealers and homeless people.
>>
>>19269788
Asbestos is typically only found in pipes and furnaces. It's very uncommon to find them in walls, because it was mainly used as an extreme heat insulator
>>
OP here thanks for all your guys replys gonna post some more pics
>>
Also, what about the clothing, what do you do for example with hats and stuff how do you clean all those?

Looks like the insulation used in HVAC ductwork. Stuff's all over the place in attics, basements, and walls.

There's an abandoned NATO airbase nearby. Many buildings were already torn dowm but the big halls still stand. They sealed all ground level entrances very well but you can reach an outside staircase and from there it's a risky climb into the main building. Many empty spoopy hallways, bathrooms and the gaint hall where the aircrafts would stand.

We found a way on top of the roof of the big building - all in the middle of the night. It was a very breath taking adventure and I wonder if they still stand. Been a while since I've been there.

The old and dangerous lickaroo
>>
I wish I had pictures of all the stuff I explored with friends as pre teens and teenagers. I'm twenty two now, so smart phones weren't everywhere. Be careful with rusty nails, broken glass, and people you may encounter. A friend of mine told me to be careful at this old factory we had been going to because he was chased by a guy screaming with a shot gun. I thought he we full of shit until we ran into the guy.
>Be me exploring with chubby friend at thirteen years old.
>There are multiple access points, one being an underground tunnel thing with a heavy ass door that looked like some Indiana Jones shit.
>Walk to other side, friend gives me a boost so I can get on the lower part of the roof and find a way in without breaking a window.
>Here garage door sounds. My friend can see where the noise is but I can't. He looks terrified.
>I jump off the fucking roof like a super human and we both run like gazelles.
>Friend is surprisingly keeping up, but getting winded.
>I can here the guy SCREAMING the entire time. I never looked back.
>Found a giant tomb stone at nearby cemetery to dive behind.
Sorry if the story was anti climactic. I've got a really spooky one that makes me physically shake when I tell people about it if interested.

I'll try and leave out details that don't matter. Before I start I just want to say that I don't believe in ghosts in the sense that there are dead people walking around the planet, but here's my one experience with that sort of thing. This happened around the same age as the first story.
>A friend and I at the time were regularly going to this after school thing for middle schoolers at an old church that was constantly having different people in charge.
>They begin remodeling, so there is now access to places in the building that we had not previously been able to get to.
>We use our activity/time after homework to slip off and explore.
>Over the course of a few days we find all sorts of cool shit. Find rooms that we had to climb latters up to and can watch people from. Even found access to the addict, which had no storage area, and had to walk on support boards and, afraid to fall through the ceiling.
>We really start looking forward to this after school shit. And plan out our next few days. Keep in mind we only had two days a week, so this happened over maybe a month.
>We go downstairs to what we think is the basement. There are alot of rooms to explore. We get to the last room.
>It looks like just a plank room with new paint with a closet at the far end, but it was a weird illusion.
>Between the closet and one of the walls is a very narrow space you could get into, and to the left was a really skinny, old ass looking wooden door. This is gold to us.
>>
>We go through to find even more stairs, but they look old as fuck. They go down to a wall, then one eighty degrees turn and down some more.
>We go as far as we can, it's very dark and feels noticeably different.
It gives me chills to even think about it.
>It's also noisy, like high pitched animal sounding noises and what we thought sounded like bats.
>We receipt regroup at the top of the stairs and decide to come back in a couple days with flash lights.
>Could barely sleep or concentrate on anything I'm so excited.
>Get there a few days later wit fish lights. We go down but we are scared shitless. The air is cold and something just feels wrong. Very wrong. We don't make far past the bottom of the stairs.
>Decide to go back up. We're talking for a few minutes, we still feel weird as fuck.
>My light is still on as I'm holding it to my side. I see something out of the corner of my eye.
>I turn around to see a translucent looking person, but they're wearing something that looks either really old or just out of this world.
>I can feel this thing. I'm frozen and can't believe what I'm seeing. It's slowly coming up the stairs.
>Look at friend. "Ahhh aaa are your seeing this.? I don't know who said it, me or him, we're both shivering looking at this thing.
>We fucking bolt out of there.
>>
>>19273518

You should always have a mask when urban exploring. Be careful going underground because there are other things that can kill you that are odorless due to suffocation (fyi). Look at 3M products. Urban exploration is fun but understand it is extreme hazardous. Do your research and reach out to urban veterans.

Not related to urban exploring, but when I got off work once at around 4am I saw a crackhead screaming at his girlfriend, and dragging her by the hair. I walk up to him, tell him he needs to calm the fuck down, and he responded by immediately punching me in the nose. It broke, and he then grabbed me by the throat and kept punching my nose\face. I got a swing in or two, but I got my ass completely kicked by not going up to him and immediately starting the fight.
Like a rabid animal, avoid at all costs. If you have to confront one, don't hesitate to do whatever is necessary to get them down.

I'm the guy that flips houses
>Junkies stopping by all the time asking for former "Tennant's" (squatters)
>Not all of them are bad but when you're fucking with a junkie who's withdrawing they don't give a fuck
>Some former squatter keeps coming by asking for me to hire him for that job
>Say fuck no to him a million times.
>Now a bunch of junkies know there is a bunch of valuable shit in there
>I try to take as much as I can home at night but sometimes it's not feasible
>Guy I hired is a pretty good dude, hard worker but has a loose screw and a tendency towards violence.
>Hesaperfectfit.jpg
>One day my helper forgets his backpack at the site and it had his driver's license in it so he goes back to the house
>Sees three people, two guys and a girl climbing in the window
>He's not a huge guy, tall but wiry and has a definate aura about him that says "don't fuck with me"
>He goes full hulk mode, grabs tire iron from his trunk and beats the shit out of three of them in the alley beside the house
>A couple of the neighbours in this relatively decent neighborhood hear to commotion at witness some of the beat down
>Makes it clear that they need to tell their junky friends the house is off limits or they'll get the same treatment
>They're happy we're getting the junkies out of the neighborhood so they dgaf
>One of which is actually a cop
>Cop vouches for my employee
>Made $90 grand in 3 month's on that house
Only time it came to blows but there were a few times where he chased others off that were getting out of line.

Been going to a condemned factory off and on the past few months, the whole thing's collapsing. They've started trying to salvage one of the buildings (there's four) so they keep taking precautions that just end up making it more fun.

As of last time, you have to jump to the bottom rung of a ladder and pull yourself up, go in through a second story window, take a flight of stairs up and walk across the collapsing roof of the first building just to get to the latter three.

Got some cool footage, going back for more eventually before we edit it all.

Sure. Asbestos will settle in your clothes and hair, so as soon as I get home, all my clothes go in the wash. You should take a shower as well. None of this is perfect, but it's about as much risk reduction as you can do. Keep in mind, you're unlikely to have any problems unless you're regularly walking around in abandonments without a respirator. I've (stupidly) gone without one a number of times. Even without one you'll probably be fine, but you don't get to recalculate the risk when you have mesothelioma. Like I said, do it for peace of mind if nothing else.

I've also heard that humidity keeps asbestos fibers close to the ground so it's less of an issue. It's usually not just hanging in the air, so don't drag your feet to kick it up or pick up objects from the ground (unless you're wearing a respirator).

The pic related is from a recent explore. I was too lazy to put on a respirator since I was only going to be in there for a few minutes, but I knew I shouldn't have when I saw these hallways.

As for general tips, not sure where to start. What do you want to know?

Btw man I saw your videos nice job, keep up the good work

Btw guys op here, I'm thinking on doing an app for urbex featuring stuff like maps and for example add locations that are abandoned and you guys could comment on them talking about if it's safe or so, but the most important would be it would track your movements exactly and tell you where did you go and how to go back as well as making a map of the place from inside with this, what do you guys think, would you use it?
>>
>>19278907
I'm kind of the same way. I do small local places that are low risk, easy ingress/egress and with low visibility from others that might cause problems. Last one was just a small building on private land that may have been a farm. Place was half trash, half spraypaint. Was due for a double knee surgery so I was no good for any athletic entry/escape so it suited. I wish I had friends that did this in my youth. Now I've hit 30 I'm aware it's probably childish in some ways. On the negative side, as an adult I'm more aware of the risk of getting caught or charged for entries, but on the positive side I'm quicker mentally to come up with a better excuse for being there.

Honestly, it's probably fine to keep using the hat even without washing it. I wear the hat in pic related on most explores, it's only been washed once, because I REALLY didn't think it would survive. And if you really don't feel good about leaving yours unwashed, it's worth a shot if the alternative is throwing it out anyway.

That's a really good idea and I'd probably use it, but I also think it would lead to trouble. Location databases do exist, but are often closed off. Abandonments that become public knowledge often become targets for vandalism and other such problems, which leads to some locations being trashed and tighter security for others. As such, a lot of explorers are unwilling to share.

How does one get into Urban exploration?

Step 1: Find abandoned place.
Step 2: Go inside.

Starter tips would be looking into the laws in your area regarding trespassing and B&E, getting a good set of spare clothing and solid boots, and using appropriate equipment for the site you're at: For instance, if you're entering a long derelict building sealed off for the most part until your inclusion, you might want to bring along a respirator.
Use your head, and learn by doing.
