What is the possibility that civilisation existed way before we believe it did, but was wiped out by a catastrophe and pressed the reset button on human progress?
Things like metal rust and decay in hundreds of years, and even quicker if they are under water, so what if something caused huge waves or a floods to destroy all progress from the past? There seems to be more and more discoveries questioning the official ideas of when Humans began to progress, (Göbekli Tepe) and how progressed ancients humans where, (Baghdad Battery), So I think it is quite foolish to assume everything we know about the past right now is totally accurate.
Ancient ideas of Atlantis become less far fetched when thinking of the ancient world this way, especially considering how many people from different time periods and locations wrote about it.

I believe there was a prehistoric advanced civilization(s) as well but something terrible happened to them and no trace remains. I posted the exactly same thread asking /sci/ what they thought and they all said that there's absolutely no evidence of it, even deep under the ground so there's no reason to believe there was a civilisation like that.
