How do flat Earthers explain the Coriolis effect?
>>
They never explain anything.
You give them video or photos they say it's fake.
You tell them how to test the curvature of the earth, they refuse to do it.
You show them the math re:gravity and they say it's "descriptive of gravity, but doesn't actually prove earth is round"

They're idiot nut bars and deserve public shame for being so stupid and also for making /x/ - a board full of retarded LARPers like us - look bad.
>>
>>19217211
Who give a fuck what they think? They're retards.
>>
I was against Flat earth, then i watched a LIVE 24/7 flat earth channel on YT and it actually made me question shit, like how can we see things miles and miles away if the earth is curved.
But now, i watched a Lockheed Martin engineer and i believe the earth might be curved again, and multi-dimensional beings are creating the rings on Saturn and Uranus with plasma vehicles. Look it up, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WwKR1O5nCc
>>
>>19217211
lol the "Coriolis Effect" isn't real, that's like Flat Earth 101
>>
>>19217211
Flat earthers are bonified retards. Don't expect them to explain anything.

Like lunar eclipses, or Earth's core, magnetic poles, axis tilt or anything. They're too fucking thick to understand basic environmental silence, don't expect anything from them.

Fake image! My friend tells me it's CGI.
Coverment Generated Information.
NASA is known to spread CGI.
It might look real to the untrained eye, but the experts can spot these kind of information. I put my hand inthefire for this guy. He has been my friend for almost 9 months now and lives in Atlanta, so he must know stuff about space and stuff. He even is also a fan of Whitney Houston. I mean, what are the odds, right. We both have a father who loves the movie Over The Top, and if we had a dog, we both would call him Lance.
He knows everything about Antarctica and the Giant Wall. He said his neighbor once tried to climb the Wall. He never came back. He did send a postcard, but his wife thinks it is fake and is scared she will be abducted too. So she never wrote anything back so nobody would find out her address. I hope some day I can go to Atlanta too. Then I can meet my buddy.

The disc earth is spinning (duh!). The Coriolis effect is opposite below the equator because below the equator is the other side of the disc (spinning other way).

The real question is why are the giant elephants running around in circles on the even gianter space turtle's back?

I have so many questions about flat earth

If the earth is flat, what does that say about the shape of the universe around it? Is it a free-floating disc? Is it balancing on something? Is the universe itself flat?
How tall are the ice walls?
Do flat earthers believe in extraterrestrials?
Do flat earthers believe in god?
Are the sun and moon actually in outer space?
Why do the positions of the stars above us change, are we moving in relation to them or are they moving?
Is space travel possible?
>>
>>19219428
Oh hey it's you again. Like the anon pointed out last time, Byrd is talking about the half of Antarctica located in the eastern hemisphere, where most the actual landmass is. Little America is opposite this on the Ross ice shelf. Direct overland access from there is largely blocked by the Transantarctic Mountains. (Real mountains, not ice)

BTW, anyone here read Morse code? I want to know what kind of secret message Larry LeSueur is sending in blink code.

God is incomprehensible and it is reasonable to consider that the shape of his creation, the earth, is incomprehensible as well. Therefore, earth may be a sphere and a plane at the same time. This is totally unreasonable but perfectly in line with the powers of God. What else would you expect?

That is not how NASA given an official statement. That's just a guy acting like he is NASA. He might work there, sure.
Did you read the James Van Allen paper?

You can go through the belt if proper protected. Staying inside the belt for longer periods of time is a problem. But probes can also pass it.
If you claim you do research, then do the fucking research.
>>
>>19222251
>>
>>19220627
One more question. Rotational inertia is still an unsolved problem. The problem is so basic you will have a difficulty finding a description of what the problem is and why it is unsolved. Every physicist forgets to bother with it.

Let's say you're in a carousel with walls, u is you spinning around the axis o:
(u---o---u)

You can't see beyond the carousel but you can feel the walls pushing on you.
This is your normal understanding of spinning and this is how you know you are spinning (or slowing down but this should only be temporary while spinning is not).

But you also know that the entire universe cannot be spinning. Because this doesn't make sense since spinning needs an outside frame of reference.

So, make the carousel larger until the entire universe is spinning with you.

At some point, you should stop feeling the walls pushing on you, or not.

This problem is unresolved with our best understanding of physics.

The fact that you don't/can't intuitively understand why the helicopter can't just hover while the earth rotates is part of the problem. This whole retarded conspiracy theory is supported by people who most likely never went to school, or at least weren't paying attention.

In any case, the fucking chopper is rotating WITH the earth. If you were to ascend to the right height/distance from earth like we do with some satellite placements then you could indeed "hover" while the earth rotated below.

What is on the outer continents, specifically the "traveling island" ?

is it possible that there is anything beyond the outermost ice walls and if so, what?

What exactly are the 'fallen angels' if they're not the literal beings from christian mythology?

What is the Great Deep?

Is our understanding of stars and nebulae correct or is space something different entirely?

What exactly are those tiny dark spheres that cause eclipses? are they just tiny moons but darker in appearance?

Are there other flat earths or are we alone?

What does the government have to gain from hiding the reality of the ice walls from regular people?

looking for a quick rundown on flat earth debunking arguments
can you guys do this without being angry?
>>
>>19217211

It doesn't help that when presenting their evidence for something flat earthers are wrong about other basic math/facts.

Just watched a video trying to say gravity is fake. It used a gravitron in its example. What they were wrong about was how fast the Earth was spinning and that you're lifted up and not being thrust outwards. They said 19 miles per second (68400 mph) when it in fact spins at 1000 mph (0.27 miles per second). They were saying how can the earth hold us down but the gravitron lift is up. The gravitron only spins at 0.00435 miles per second (7 m/s, meters per second). Critical force for 3Gs is calculated to 7 m/s. Where it might seem like somehow the gravitron is succeeding where the Earth is failing, it takes significantly less force to move something horizontally than it takes to move the same object vertically.

That should she some light on why you can't take flat earthers seriously. They tend to working from broken roots, bad education, and wild assumptions.

"just watched a video on gravity."

Gravity works for either world. we experience it, so it's true. You can't compare flat earth and global earth since there is only one or the other.

No it doesn't. Flat Earthers claim gravity doesn't exist.

If it did exist, gravity would pull the flat earth into the center, creating a ball.

Gravity existing proves that flat earth can't exist.

>>19225765
That's because it's a composite photograph and that's where the smaller photos were stitched together.

NASA explained all this when they first published it.
>>
>>19225765

Nasa said they create pictures of Earth by shopping together sections since they have never launched a satalite out far enough to specifically capture the whole earth simultaneously. The long range probes they send out are never aligned to capture the earth. It's all very convenient.
>>
>>19225785
>>19225785

>>
>>19225774

>>
>>19225790

It's just a claim they've been making for years now.

>>19225797

>>
>>19225658
Oops. Sorry, used one too many -theys- in there, didn't I? They (flat earthers) are the ones generally resorting to advanced tech claims against NASA and whatever shadowy organization FE's happen to think controls them on any given day to brush aside all the holes in FE conjecture. Same as with the 9/11 wingnuts and other conspiracies.
>>
>>19225825
Some do, some don't. Some say the earth has an edge, others say it's an infinite plane. Some say it's a circle, some say it's a rectangle that loops back at the east and west edges like a pac man game. Some say there's a dome, some say it's all a hologram.

The fact that they can't come up with even one single consistent model shows how retarded they are.
>>
>>19225838
The fact that you dont provide evidence to debunk any of those just shows how retarded you are
>>
>>19222490
Oké, legit reaction.

But a lot of people seems to have forgotten what science is. At school they first explain what science is. Science is to design a test, establish a test condition, collect the resulting data, comparing it with older data, AND run the test again using the same conditions to make sure your colected data is correct.
So a book of science can be seen as a rapport on that data. If in the future new discoveries show the old data turns out to be biased, the book will be corrected.
You learn to trust the books and not for no reason. If you don't trust the books, why read at all?
It is up to the parents to make sure the school they trust their kids with keeps a certain standard. It might be a gubmint job, but what if someone does not take the job seriously? Read the books your kids need to learn. And if elementary school books are to hard for you, goddamnit get some education yourself.
A lot of people don't paid enough attention in class, but it was all there. Were you?
Flat Earth really shows who is undereducated and who at least kinda knows how earth, moon, sun and weather are related.
Flattards in 2017 are really a shame upon western civilization. They should know better. Earth is proven to be a roundlike planet way before America was even a colony, let alone NASA being an working agency.
>>
>>19225899

Shh. You'll get the thread deleted if you use logic like that.
>>
>>19222583
What I see here a lack of rhetoric.
Knowing something and being able to pass on that knowledge are two different things. A lot of people are not competent enough to pass on knowledge. This does not mean they're knowledge is bad, but it simply means they are not able to communicate it to someone who might have a different educational level or is not familiar with certain topics. Not rarely this goes hand in hand with having not enough patients or vocabulary to reach the other person the right way.

It must be said there are quite a few flat earthers out there who proved to at least toke time and effort to investigate their FE theory. To bad they don't know how science actually works and therefor don't trust it and will never compare FE claims with valid scientific counter arguments.

That's not correct. Earth is completely stationary. That implicates the universe is falling. It started when God created the universe and will stop when the earth will be destroyed. The debate among biblical scholars is if it is the edge of the universe that will destroy earth or if the universe will just stop. The question is of the universe is actually a big tube and earth is in the core of it, or if the universe is not falling, but a torus (donut) and spinning.

The fuck you're talking about? We understand rotational inertia perfectly.

>At some point, you should stop feeling the walls pushing on you, or not.
That's completely false.
You "feel" the centrifugal force more and more when you move away from the center of the rotation. When you are on a spinning disk you are moving in a given direction (perpendicular to the o->u vector in your diagram). Since that velocity is always changing, you feel the change in your velocity as a force (the centrifugal force).
If you were to jump on that disk you would be thrown away from the disk, exactly like a sling. When you're standing on the disk, the centripetal force (from the friction of your shoes) keeps changing your velocity to match the rotation.

This is what it is about. It's a meme gang. Folks love triggering people and what's more triggering than pretending to believe the earth is flat? I mean, you can throw the oldest fallacies at "round earth shills" like 'well have you even been to space or Antarctica?' And then accuse you of not watching as many flat earth YouTube videos as them and therefore are retarded and brainwashed.

It's funny but god even if the earth were flat, the round earth functions that we utilize to make the world go round are more useful than any of the dumb shit proposed by flat eartheres.
Pragmatism is in the corner of round earth and flat earth is just an internet phenomenon.
I will say it should be studied as a social phenomenon because there is so much to learn from why people push something like this. What are the motivations, how many and to what degreee believe what they say vs just doing it for the lulz

Some find it hard to believe, but you can see the earth is a sphere from a plane.

There isn't a object in the universe that is flat and big enough to fly over it at that altitude for so long and still see it. .

The biggest flat thing would be the deck of a large aircraft carrier. Anything else is not flat. And not many people haved walked on such a big flat surface.
Even in a small boat, at open sea, on a flat sea, you position is rare totally still nor is the horizon.
But what you see on a flat stucture is different then a curved on. On what you sea on the beach is how it looks when you stand on a gigantic spherical object.
If you think you see a flat plane, you simply don't understand how your sight corresponds to reality. Bottom line.
If you see flat earth pictures, know don't know how to lens correction.
Flattards only prove one thing. They don't science. At all.
>>
>>19232711
>The distance to the sun has been changed numerous times over the last century

Well, the earth's orbit is elliptical, so it's constantly changing anyway.

Christopher Huygens correctly measured it ast 93 million miles back in the 1650s.

The only changes to that measurement have been increasingly precise significant figures.
>>
>>19232219

its obvious from the effects of the big bang that we are in the center of a gargantuan mine, left by some "dwarf"-like civilization aeons ago, wherein the big bang was an attempt to create some form of agriculture on what we would consider a "cosmic" scale.

You are looking down and observing the gradual slope of the hill from all sides, you can see nearly every square inch of the hill given enough visibility and 20/20 vision.
Is it not the same principle when looking "laterally" on Earth?
Since our planet is a ball, no matter where you stand, you are at the "top" of the Earth (except for the crust of the Earth creating mountains, etc on the surface). When you look via telescope "laterally" on Earth you are actually looking slightly down, giving a much greater field of view than the pic I am replying to leads you to believe.

Im a nursing major, not an engineer so if I'm committing a fallacy I'd love to hear your explanation.

tl;dr standing on top of a ball and looking down you can see a whole lot of the ball, everything doesnt dissappear behind the curve, nor can you observe an actual slope of a sphere which is thousands of miles in diameter

Theres no MEASURABLE curve of the earth. Rowbotham attempted to measure it based of the radius of the earth using the english channel and setting up flags. Theres no curve.

I have no experience with the English Channel experiment but I do have something to say about>>19238446

If you are miles above the Earth, if it was flat and you are looking out and down (such as the webm is) the fact that a horizon exists nearly DISPROVES the flat earth theory. Heres my reasoning.
If the Earth is flat, when you are this high there would be no point to which you could not see. You would see the flat earth continue to sprawl out until things just get too far away to identify with eyes/lenses. This webm shows that after a certain point, the part of the Earth that is behind the curve (FORWARD, in the video, NOT LATERALLY) dissappears, creating a horizon.
Our best understanding of science tells us that spacetime curves around central points of gravity. Maybe this has some effect on the way light behaves? (getting off topic, too theoretical at this point to really comment on that)

Imagine holding up a beach ball right under your nose. You see a great deal of the surface of the ball when you look out and down, but after a certain point you cannot see past a "horizon." the other side of the ball is not visible. Now scale that up hundreds of thousands (millions?) of times. The lateral curve is not really detectable, but you can still observe a horizon if you look out and down.

I get what you're saying, but the only defense of the heliocentric theory is "OH THE EARTH IS TOO MASSIVE TO COMPREHEND"

But its not. According to the 'defined radius' of sphere earth, there is a measurable curve .8 inches per square mile. This is something that SHOULD be observable.

So either the measured radius is incorrect or as the theory suggests, the earth is a flat surface.

Its actually 8 inches

8(miles squared)
or
8in.(distance in miles^2)

Which means to take the square root of the distance traveled in miles and then multiply that figure by eight inches.

So for example, if you traveled one mile, the formula would look something like this;

8(1×1) = 8 Inches of total curvature

And for the first ten miles traveled of curvature in inches…

8(1×1) = 8 Inches of total curvature
8(2×2) = 32 Inches of total curvature
8(3×3) = 72 Inches of total curvature
8(4×4) = 128 Inches of total curvature
8(5×5) = 200 Inches of total curvature
8(6×6) = 288 Inches of total curvature
8(7×7) = 392 Inches of total curvature
8(8×8) = 512 Inches of total curvature
8(9×9) = 648 Inches of total curvature
8(10×10) = 800 Inches of total curvature

No you don't understand, the flat earth is actually a computer simulation, and due to that human's have a limited draw distance on the polygons

Who figured out the earth was round? Do you know who determined the (((circumference))) of the earth?

You guys act so smart, explain how we got the mathematical (((circumference))) ????

Ancient Greeks.
Eratosthenes.
Measuring the different angles to the sun over a given distance, and then multiplying that distance until you get to 360 degrees.

Dig Deep anon, the truth is hard to find. Look at the moon missions, they faked them all, especially Apollo 11 the proof is everywhere.
Now think, if the most fundamental fact you thought could be wrong, and the most esteemed government insituations are lying to you, what else are you lied about?
>But why would they live, what is the motive?
It's something so big, many can't comprehend, and honestly its tough to get out of it. But once you see, it all becomes simple.
Short answer the Jews
Long answer, everything you ever knew is influenced by people in higher postions, your teachers responds to the principal, responds to school board, responds to ministry of education, responds to government, responds to who?
>>
>>19241067
But it is easy to find out.
Just audiobook the Greek philosophers.
It may take some time to listen most of the works, but it 's a sure wake-up. It is still big in above average education. Ever wondered why that is?

I know what the motive is, think of why Plato is so highly reverred? Why Greek Culture is seen as the way we should be? They were seen as pagans, but they knew the secrets of the ancient Religion of Babylon. Why were there so much boy and man love in Rome and Greece, the same reason there is pizzagate and pedogate. It's all occult, or luciferian magik. The knowledge has been passed down in secert for many years.
