You are a terrible person, or it wouldn't be able to stand being around you. Like attracts like. That being said, banish, hang a talisman representative of your faith at entrances/exits, burn sage, scatter salt and/or holy water around your home.

Whenever it comes around, man up, tell it to leave and be firm in your words. Dont show any fear at all. Ask God and Jesus to help in getting rid of it. Youve got to be more mentally powerful than the demon. This works though.

usually I just ignore it's voice, it's almost psychic in nature. would a chain with a cross work?

Do not interact with it. Do not fear it. Do not breed negativity for it to feed. Reject it with your entire being. Fight it by embracing positivity and all that is good. Also do what >19216102 said. Exhaust all self-deliverance methods possible and if those do not banish it, I would recommend telling someone you trust just in case you need an exorcism. Attempt to pray with your entire being for deliverance.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: You need to identify what gave the demon legal rights to you. Any strong negative actions or thoughts can evoke a demon. This is mainly a Christian teaching if I recall correctly, but it is a necessary step. Once you discover it, you must fully revoke those rights that gave the demon access to you.
