While pretty much anyone can play golf by simply going to the range at there favorite spot, the richer are members of elite clubs that revolve around golf but are pretty all encompassing when it comes to the massive playgrounds they can afford.

When you are in the same golf clubs/tennis clubs as the elites, you could easily be privy to world changing India and events by simply being in the same dining room as them

This is getting off topic to what OP intended for this thread, but ocular implants would actually be really useful for competitive golfing. And a golf course would make a really good trial area to test out the effectiveness of any cybernetically enhanced sensory augmentations.
