Almost like the size of a star depends on how much available mass is around it. And that some mysterious force like gravity holds it all together and stops it from just spewing everywhere and breaking apart.

I am convinced its a giant star feeding living creature. space is similar to a vast limitless ocean and is probably full of macro-life that feeds off of stars or even lays eggs in them to incubate.
