How did people even come up with hollow earth? I could understand the flat earth because back then it looks like an obvious choice and some people misinterpret stuff from Bible but hollow? In which way is it any better than globe?

It's not inconceivable that there could be caves and tunnel systems in there deeper than we think ... people don't realize the scale of the Earth and really how very very very little we've been able to dig deep into it, we're just making assumptions (although good, scientifically backed ones) about what's in there.

However, an entirely hollow earth with people living on the inside of it is ridiculous as we'd have to rewrite everything we think about gravity if such a thing were true, and gravity as we currently think of it seems to hold up pretty well in most, if not all, situations we've seen.

What id the 'sun' in in the hollow earth was a dense ball of metallic hydrogen then it could atleast be a functional size for heating the earth interior without killing all life. whilst maintaining a gravitational force consistent with what we understand.but th that creates the problem of seemingly anitgravity as you would be draw towards the core and not the crust if you were on the inside.
