I need inspiration for a personal project and I'd like to hear more on monsters or legends that aren't commonly heard of but are still interesting. A good conspiracy can also help.
I swore I made a thread like this on another device, but when I checked it disappeared. Also, pic unrelated.
Hello? I know I shouldn't expect much attention, but I don't want this to die yet...

ThunderCats
There's a legend here on the coast of light bursts on the sea at late night with a deafening roar.
Once boats see it, soon the darkness returns, followed by the immediate beginning of a heavy storm.
It has been know to drown the crew of small yachts and fishing boats, who were unable to escape in time.
We also have a large local volcano out in the distance. We have had security stare at it at night from afar and they would see a huge fireball come out of it and immediately fly towards them across miles at an incredible speed. Needless to say no one has stayed immobile enough to find out what happens.
I attribute it to the hawaiian legend of volcanic spirits that incinerate invaders and idiots.

When you say invaders, I hope you don't also mean foreigners. The idiot part seems realistic though.

What about them?
I think a good way to attract attention to this thread is to provide my own interesting legend.

This story is quite literally about a bird that can cure and soothe people through it's song, but if it ever poops on you it will turn you to stone. It is an old one from the Philippines (essentially like Hawaii geographically, but Asian)

Shoot, thought you meant it happened in Hawaii. If it did, the term foreigner would apply to everyone not in Hawaii.

Enjoy this weird tale though
