I hugged my dog while the vet put her to sleep. She gave me some tissue afterwards because I quietly teared up then she teared up. I thought veterinarians go through this shit all the time and are used to it. Surprised me to see her crying about my dead dog too.

I don't think seeing someones beloved pet ever gets to be super easy, maybe you try to make yourself numb to it but I bout that works all the time.

I've owned rats from the time i was 9, i've seen them all die within 4-3 years of life, and yet i still cry every time, and i still rescue them.

Nothing can ever prepare you for something that plays such a big part in your every day life passing away.

Truly, deeply sorry to everyone who has lost a pet recently.
