Yes. But I doubt Joyce was the type of guy to be drawing sigils and bringing out the candles and shit. In fact, Ulysses gets somewhat into the occult and mysticism, then Finnegans Wake (as far as I can see --- I haven't penetrated the whole thing yet, else I'd be too smart for 4chan) is even more interested in it.

Pynchon, though, I can definitely imagine him trying to do some Crowleyan sex magic or something in his younger days, while he was writing Gravity's Rainbow or something, he seems like that type of guy.
