I've always had this fascination with unidentifiable animals,

I've always had this fascination with unidentifiable animals, ones rumored to exist but never found, carcasses washed ashore, sightings, or strange unique one-offs like Hogzilla or blue lobsters. Anyone got any links to cook stories, or do you have any personal accounts of strange creature sightings?

Pic related is the skunk ape, rumored to exist in the Southeastern US.

That's been confirmed as an early set photo from harry and the hendersons during costume prototyping. The model shop the suit was being constructed in was located in LA, which explains the plants in front of his face.

There are no yeti's. Bigfoot doesn't exist. The Loch Ness monster is a complete lie to gaurner tourism money, and the Chupacabra is a myth conjured to explain wild coyotes. Monsters are all fiction. Go to sleep OP.

I've spotted a griffin-like creature several times over the course of 30 years in South Australia. The fact that the occurrences happened over such a long time frame in locations 100's of miles apart could mean a number of things. It's one highly intelligent creature. Or it's inter-dimensional. Or there's more than one and they have the means to communicate to each other, because seeing them 3 or more times means i'm targeted by them/it.

Fuck off, obviously the skunk ape is not real, as I'm sure OP knows. Doesn't mean there aren't "monster" sightings, which are more real than ghosts and other obvious bullshit all over /x/. Just last month a strange animal washed ashore on the Phillipines.

Fuck this dude OP. I'll try to find some links to some stories, I'll be lurking.

No shit this pic isn't real. I googled skunk ape and it was the first thing that came up. I just needed a pic for the thread. Go away now.

Blue lobsters aren't a myth you dumbass, just rare

That's nice.

...Why are you on /x/ then?

Granted, /sci/ is full of creationist Christians, so I guess it's just the norm around here.

The North Carolina Sewer monster. Caught on tape, confirmed real, but no concrete answer as to what it is:

>a griffin-like creature
Care to explain its features more. Or have you only viewed it from afar?
>>
>>19149702
It's a big cat with sharp bird or reptile features. It's probably about the size of a pitball, maybe a bit more, but has the ability to jump large distances like a cat. Otherworldly is the only way i can describe it
>>
>>19149409
It's basically a huge clump of tubifex worms. Yeah there is no concrete evidence, but if it quacks like a duck, and waddles like a duck, it's probably a mega colony of tubifex worms. Pretty monstrous and interesting, but not exactly a cryptid.
>>
>>19149839
I've heard the tubifex worm thing was disproven.

I mean, it's fake as hell, but certainly a unique creature tale. Personally, I'm sick of hearing about skin walkers, wendigos, and creepily tall men.

Nah, that's the Elder Thing. Yog Sothoth is described as a "conglomeration of iridescent globes", but not that it matters much since everyone just draw a bunch of tentacles and eyeballs and call it 'lovecraftian'.

Man, I wish Lovecraft-inspired monsters were real.
