Watched Martyrs last night. Every board I asked agreed it was the scariest movie out there. I kept waiting for it to get good, or at least get weird, and all I got was torture porn. Does anyone have anything actually weird?
Before you say A Serbian Film, torture porn isn't scary.
Pic related. Torture porn is boring. I could just find a rekt thread and have the same effect.

Haven't seen martyrs but Poughkepsie tapes is pretty freaky to me. Doesn't surprise me it's bad tho if a lot of /x/ posters thought it was spooky. they have a pretty shit taste in horror movies.

perpetuating the stereotype i see

Seen the Poughkeepsie Tapes, and I concur on the other Anon's opinion. I really want to get scared and bothered by a horror movie, but it always misses that mark even if it's a good, concise film. I have many horror movies I like, but none that bother me. I really feel like I've exhausted my resources here.
you faggots love the babbadook, and i have shit taste? Of course it doesn't scare you you're fucking grown adults, but you cant tell me the PT's isnt good.

The Babadook was a good metaphor for post-partum depression. It was well written, well acted, and relatable. It was not, however, scary.

Most people who dig torture movies don't understand movies about psychological trauma. It's a matter of taking things literally rather than figuratively. All about personal taste and the way and individual processes information.

I mean i completely understand that, a lot of my favorite horror movies are psychological, I just can't stand hearing an autistic child scream on the top of his lungs for an hour thirty. Maybe babadook resonates with women rather than men. I couldn't dig it though. Anon wanted a creepy movie. Suggested pt because the way it's shot is eerie and it's creepy to think about people like that being out in the real world.
Cronenberg is pretty weird. Psychologically scary.

I'm OP, actually. Also not a woman. Having a child is a horror in and of itself. I've seen PT, and it was rather boring, imo. I've seen a lot of movies about people in basements, they're as "a dime a dozen" as possession movies now.

I've never heard of that one, I'll add it to the list. Could you give a brief synopsis? Still taking suggestions though.
There are a lot of movies out there, explore them by yourself, fagit.
Yesterday I watched Kotoko, Sam Was Here, The Void, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, A Dark Song and Devil's Candy. I don't give two shits about what people has to say about them, I just wat h them.
By the way, a good horror movie doesn't have to be scary to be good. Jumpscares and shit is for retards.
A good horror movie is good when the script and screen play are capable to show you the kind of horror that movie genre is trying to show. The Void didnt scared me a bit, but the lovecraftian cosmic horror they used so well made it a great experience.

You watched all that yesterday? It must be nice to have all that free time. Some of us have jobs, wives, and other things that take up our time.

The void was great, nice and gooey. I'm about to watch kill list, hope its as good as everyone says it is.

I love to watch horror movies, and yes, I have that free time but thats irrelevant.
Suspiria.

The Good Neighbor wasn't too bad. Interesting suspense. The ending was iffy, but I guess there's only a handful of options to close off a story like that.
