It's called the Cordyceps fungus, it makes it's way into the brain of its host and controls the body until it finds a place it can sprout and release its spores.

If you ever played the game The Last of Us, that's what caused the zombie infection, a mutated strain of Cordyceps. It can't fuck with humans though, not in real life.
