Took these pictures while on a trip to NYC a while back. Taken from ferry to Liberty Island, across the water. Thought it looked like some kind of pyramid. Thoughts?
I never heard of this and research yields nothing. You should try to get closer and take pictures of the mound. It does look like the remains of a ziggurat.

It's an old landfill covered with concrete. It's in steps to keep the structural integrity.

Checking on Google maps, both possible locations are either inconsistent or restricted from view. If it were just a landfill, you'd think Google wouldn't have any problem documenting it.
