They listen to these stories. They know them far better than I do. They believe in the 'truth' of the Bible with all their heart. So why, given God's homicidal ways, are they so quick to submit themselves to him? Why are they so quick to put their wills in the hands of this murderous being? It's subversive, is what it is.

I've been thinking, especially after reading Psalms, which is basically 150 chapters of God wankery, beseeching Yahweh to deliver people from all manner of illness, wickedness, and other sorrows without taking any responsibility for themselves. From what I've seen in my limited knowledge of the occult, it's all about using willpower to manifest a desired outcome in reality, so I'm guessing the Bible is a tool being used to make people surrender their wills up to some falsehood so they don't use it towards some other means. Look at practically any Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous or whatever group, always trying to get people to submit to a higher power under the guise of healing their addictions. The whole thing is just rubbing me the wrong way. It's not just.
