Chaos magic 101:
figure out what you want
state what you want
make a sigil that represents your statement
charge your sigil
move on with your life

an easy sigil making technique:
take some letters from the statement (usually 1 of each consonant used)
write the letters overlapping in an artistic way
refine the result till it no longer looks like its component parts
your sigil is done

be careful:
chaos magic functions by increasing the likelihood of "random" outcomes forwarding your stated desire
the more specific you are, the weaker the magic
however, the sigil pushes towards ALL results that could POSSIBLY be interpreted as fulfilling your wish.
so you MUST be specific or you will probably get monkey's pawed.
example:
your arm being chopped off is one way to lose weight

on the value of hard work:
how often there are opportunities for a favorable "random" to result in your stated desire is extremely important.
if your life is very orderly, this will not work very well for you.
also, putting in mundane effort as well VASTLY increases the number of opportunities.
so if you want a specific result, work for it.
example:
if you want to "find money", sitting around in your home will probably result in losing your wallet and then finding it again.
whereas, if you go walking around the park, you will probably have better results

the limiting factor on how much energy you can put into your sigil is not your total energy reserves.
the limiting factor is your skill.
you could charge sigils all day long and not have any serious negative effects.
whereas, if try to keep forcing into a single sigil you hit the limit of how much you can put in.

energy is not something you have a finite amount to use for your whole life.
it is something you produce continually over your life at a rate dependent on your health.
although, i would not recommend participating ITT if you are 95 years old and lying on your deathbed.
nor would i recommend participation if you are currently in serious risk of starving to death.

that is not what we are doing here.
this is not a linking sigil.
these things are not connected.
there is no pool.
only those who chose to maintain a linkage with a sigil being cast.
if you are simply adding charge to another person's sigil, you disconnect once you stop paying attention.

each of us is holding the intent of our own sigils.
we are simply contributing a bit of charge to eachother's private projects, and moving along.
this is chaos magic, not ceremonial magic. (or whatever you are thinking of)

drawn on paper, carved into a tree, purely visualized, posted on 4chan... wherever really.
the important steps of chaos magic:
intent, declaration, symbol, investiture
paper is not one of these.

note: DO NOT get a sigil tattooed.
it will work, but permanently marking your body with chaos magic is not good for your health.

free will is REALLY hard to break.
heavy object falling from a great height at just the wrong moment, maybe; suicide, no.
however, it there are mundane factors pushing you towards it, the sigil will make things worse.
sadly, the nature of the delivery is such that it is likely to induce memetic and nocebic effects. (mundane psychological factors)
to counter those, simply REFUSE TO BELIEVE that you will commit suicide.

what you describe can be enough.
any additional flourishes you add while focusing on the sigil with intention that the act will charge it are further helpful.
some examples:
speak aloud a hidden personal truth
perform a small act of creation. (typically of artistic variety)
jack off. (time consuming: not recommended for bulk charging ITT)
draw a copy on a bit of paper and eat it.
trace the lines of the sigil in the air several times with your finger.
shed a drop of your own blood. (a full drop is not really needed)
anything else you make up on the spot.

i had cast a sigil to do something esoteric, and couple months later this thing just sorta showed up and provided assistance.
(technical it impaled me through the heart with a ethereal glowing blue crystalline scythe, but that was actually very helpful)
